So in the wake of all this controversy over the failings of the single player campaign Bioware has announced: a multiplayer promo weekend event! Doesn't that sound keen guys? Or it would if it didn't seem like blatent attempt to deflect attention from the elephant in the room (hint: he's red blue and green all over).

How did Mass effect turn into a game where "The singleplayer is crap but at least we have a mutliplayer."

I mean come on.

I see they are really push the whole Mutliplayer thing. I doubt this will be successfull. The multiplayer is only 'surprisingly fun' because it just barely reached the standards of 'average multiplayer'. Ergo its mediocre but because it doesn't completely suck, people play it.

Now, if Bioware wants to compete in the multiplayer market they are going to get their asses handed to them
Except it's actually a pretty damn good horde mode.

But single player WASN'T crap.
It was the ending.

There's a difference.

But yeah, Bioware is really bad at subtlety (and considering ME3 ending, the irony kills me).
That's the worst deflection ever.

LOL CAPTCHA: face the music

On the topic of ME3 multiplayer, it is fun and all but I really wish instead of just fending off waves of enemies you did co-op missions. Even if they were just copy and pasted from the single-player. I think it'd be fun.

And all they achieved was to turn the PS3 owners into the newest hate filled group (they are excluded from the promotion).

There are some real gems on the BSN, some PS owners even claimed they returned their copies because they couldn't get 1 of 5 (iirc) weapons for multiplayer. The BioWare community is amusing.

Its a weekend event like akin to the stuff Halo Dose, Probs costs nothing to do and gives people a reason to play Me3MP, don't see the problem.

If it has the words "bioware" "EA" "Mass Effect" or "DLC" anywhere 'Mediocre at best' is all it can be for Zeel.

Im doing this right now. The single player is awesome (save for the ending) Im playing the multiplayer with my best friends and its an awesome 4 player experience. Why all the hate? This beats the heck out of modern fps's and alot of action rpg's. (I understand the ending sucks, I agree, but the game is fun....)

I'm surprised he graced it with that much.

Anyway, yeah, seems like a pretty odd deflection.

Still waiting to see if the rumored "Truth" is real or not.

I really, really fucking doubt it. But I'm still curious enough to not completely dismiss the claim.

I love Mass Effect 3. The ending sucks the big one, but the rest of the game was damn good, despite a few nitpicky complaints.

Wut? The Singeplayer campaign is great. I mean, you can't say the singleplayer failed just because 10 minutes of a 25+ hour game was bad.
I can say it failed for many other reasons. If the game was the ending in loop for 30 hours I think that might've been an improvement. Atleast then the game is forthright about its utter crap. With me3 its like they polished up shit until it shined.

They ruined everything great about the series.
the morality system
the character interaction
the lore development
the choices.
Funny, cause you said in another thread you thought the game was decent. Also, some specifics on how they ruined these things would be nice before you just scream "RUINED FOREVER!"

WHAT THE CRAP! Being a PS3 owner and a fan of the multiplayer, and after trying to being reasonable about this whole situation, now I feel betrayed. They coded this game across all three platforms, but "technical issues" are keeping them from letting PS3 owners from participating? Really? What technical issues? This is crap.

Its one of those things I dont want to speculate, the Multiplayer has been the god send of the fucking game, I dont even know how this is supposed to happen.

Ok, seriously? What's your hard-on for being so anti-BioWare? Hell, I'm not BioWare's biggest fan but even you're starting to piss me off. Any mention of BioWare, EA, Mass Effect or Dragon Age and you're on it like a hawk to spout your useless and inane hatred.

You don't like BioWare, we fucking get it.

Anyway, they said they'll "talk" about the ending in the future so... this seems like more of an olive branch than a "PLEASE FORGET OUR ENDING SUCKS" tactic. That is, y'know, if they actually do speak about it.

I enjoy the multiplayer personally, and think this is a great way to present challenges and rewards to those who take part. I'm not going to let 5 mins at the end of single player ruin the other 99.9% of a game I truly adored.

That's your opinion and your entitled to it. I personally despised the morality system and found to severely hinder the emotional experience of the series. The Character interaction was some of the best in the trilogy. Didn't really care about the Lore, seeing the first two games set down the ground rules for the universe. The choices are as far reaching as they could be. Overall it's I feel that it's a good game.

Onto the subject at hand, wonderful! The Multiplayer is an enjoyable experience for a group of friends in a party. Running around, reviving, screaming when the banshee jumps you, enjoyable.
