So impressions people? heres a link btw [http://www.moddb.com/mods/mechwarrior-living-legends/]

edit: changed link to a waay better one.

edit edit: I think we should make an escapist clan for this Mod. Who wants in?

On one hand, advertising much?

On the other, OMG Mechwarrior!
Yeh people accuse me of doing that alot. I'm going to just take it as a compliment from now on; at how good my presentation of threads are. =)

It's extremely rough and will need quite a bit of work before it's truly up to par, but that said I'd be lying if I hadn't just spent the last 5 hours playing almost non-stop so obviously they did *something* right! The visuals are fantastic, the mech feel right, and the controls while a bit to get used to at first are soon second nature. Level design however is very so-so. One level is downright excellent, the mountainous forest region, and the desert is alright as well as the swamp, but I dislike the other levels even though the near-zero-gravity one has some excellent ideas. It also crashes and glitches out a fair bit; Mech get stuck in the environment, sounds don't load, and other strange stuff. Quite a few features are missing as well.

But then it's a BETA for a reason, and the core for an extremely good game is there. Give it a few months and there's little doubt in my mind this could very well be 'the' mod to play online.

Can put up some screenshots if ya like as well.

My God. It sounds amazing. Yes show us what you've got. (screenshot wise!!)

Yanno I almost fainted when in the intro vid, they said that you would be able to fully customise your mech!

A couple screenshots from a few matches I was just in.

Occasionally when a Mech goes down it'll go nuclear, you don't want to be near them when they do that!

Hah, I was just about to announce this - looked like I was pipped to the post. SERIOUSLY sweet mod, only lacking in the mech hangar customisation options to be a true through-and-through mechwarrior game, but that's coming soon (well, probably...) :D

Holy crap it looks awesome. I'll probably try it out when they release a stable version.
Try it out now! It's stable to run, and even with some buggy network code making it hard to shoot down aircraft and battle armour (elementals) sometimes, it's still taken up the vast majority of my gaming time as of late!

Also, because the OP forgot it, here's the official site - the forums are a good source of info on the mod's progress. http://www.mechlivinglegends.net/

It's a mod, it's relevant to our interests!

On topic, it's finally happened, I have an excuse to buy a new gaming rig, the beast can retire! It looks amazing, with any luck it will be the perfect compliment to the new official Mechwarrior game.

I've been meaning to reinstall Crysis so I can play this.
It took me forever to find the CD. Then I had to reinstall. Took forever. Then I downloaded the Patches. Took forever. Had to read up on the forums how to install the bloody mod. That took ages too. Also not to mention the nearly 2gb download of the mod itself. Which took, you guessed it. Forever.

Until finally. FINALLY. I got to hop into my very own ED-209 and blow stuff up with lasers.

I feel 12 again.

I've been playing it all night. -And yes it's kinda crashy, but I believe that it's the only game I've ever- EVER started back up the instant it crashes.

It's totally TOTALLY worth it.

OMG.... *drools on keyboard*

They havn't even added the complete customization suite for the mechs yet. Yes that's right. Customization suite.
