Does anyone know what has happened to the new Mechwarrior game supposed to be developed by Smith and Tinker????

I seen a "trailer" for it, but after that nothing, I hope they do something with it soon and bring back the MW4/ MW4 mecenaries system or ( if the stars align, every diety every prayed to since time began gives its blessing and someone pulls their finger out of their .... you know where) we might get a Mechwarrior MMO, I would settle for Mechcommander 3 being released also ;).

Legal gridlock

The issue i believe is that many of the Mechs used in mechwarrior aka the Warhammer, Mad Cat, Marauder, Catapult, , and many many more of the original fleet Mechs, were originally owned by another company. Why they cant just leave these mechs out of the game (yes yes i know no Warhammer would make me very sad but i would rather see a goddamn Mechwarrior game than sit in my marauder.

The ultimate tragedy is that the series got a goddamn reboot with Mechwarrior Dark Age but fucking Wiz Kids decided that after their clix game stopped being popular to pull the plug (and stop the goddamn novel series mid goddamn crisis) instead of cashing in on a Mechwarrior Dark Age game, which to be honest i think has a MUCH better story and MUCH more varied gameplay since Mechs are more involved in combined arms tactics rather than just mech V mech.

I havent seen a warhammer or marauder since MW2, I know the mechs you mean they were similar to one in the Gundam Manga series, FASA did have an agreement with them which was supposed to be re-negotiated to allow the "unseen" battlemechs to be used again as new firms had taken over the licensing from FASA.

Link to the battletech wiki section on the "unseen" battlemechs.
