I'm not usually one to ask for help the moment a problem occurs, I like to make it worse by trying to fix it, but I'm at my wits end right now. You see, I'm trying to run good old Medieval: Total War. Yes, the first one. Yes, from something like 8 years ago now. I know there are newer alternatives but I prefer the campaign map in this game to any others of the series, plus it brings back memories...
Ok, so the problem is that I've installed the game and it loads up fine but the moment I try to actually play it, it crashes. The window alerting me to the crash just blames "an error". I've had a look on other forums by googling the problem and all the possible fixes I found there aren't working. So, the question is, have any of you experienced this, and if so how did you fix it?
Edit: I'm running it on Windows 7 and I've tried basic compatability mode re-jiggling.
