Okay so it's fan art, but what do you want from me? WB has cracked down on any leaked toy images of them, so I don't want anything happening so I went and got two fan art images that approximate what the toys showed. So what do you guys make of them?

The Mutos are the opposing monsters of the upcoming Godzilla film. Recently some images showing them in toy form, but I was unsure of whether or not I could show those, so I hope this is enough.

What the hell is a MUTO?

Since it's you Cojo, I shall assume this is from the new Godzilla movie? If so, is this was the big G is fighting or what are these things supposed to be?

Yeah you would be right. Mutos are the (I guess) code name of the other monsters in the upcoming Godzilla film. The images I put are, again, fan made, but are based on leaked toy images that showed the general look of the Mutos. I'm unsure about whether or not I could get away with posting the actual images so decided to play it safe. I probably should edit the OP and title to clarify it.

I figured that :)

I'm still cautiously optimistic about the new Godzilla movie. Del Toro has shown us what a REAL monster movie with today's effects can be and I am mildly worried that the new G movie won't be able to compete against it (I hope I'm wrong since I do love the Japanese old school Godzilla).

As for the monster, that one on the second screen looks kind of like Clovy, right (Cloverfield)? I don't recall other monsters showing up in the trailer so I'm curious as to what role these other dudes are going to play here. Will they fight G-man? Will they team up with him to wreak stuff? Do the MUTO's combine like the Planeteers and Godzilla is Captain Planet (That'd be awesome!!!)? We shall see...

Well if the back of another leaked toy's box is to be believed they used toy be his species' natural predators. Here is the link to the article:

I'm not sure what to make of the idea of having Godzilla have a natural predator but the design sure looks neat, no less outlandish as hedorah or Gigan to be certain. Still really excited to see this movie and actually excited to see Godzilla fight a new monster instead of wheeling out one of the old cast.

I'm not too keen on Muto. I mean since Godzilla design is more faithful to the original (with some minor changes), you would think the kaju that Godzilla will face will follow suit (look like a guy in a suit) and it remind me of the Cloverfield monster or is the point of it is kind of like Eastern monster vs Western monster (I wonder how Muto fit into the story, did the government created it)?

Wait, Godzilla actually fights other monsters this time? And it's not such an overloaded clusterfuck that each fight takes five seconds?

Well. Consider me interested.

That first picture looks a lot like the monster from the first episode of the Godzilla tv series, Crustaceous Rex.

Hmm...so that's what Clover was...If the trailers were more along the lines of OMG, GODZILLA VS CLOVERFIELD ONLY NOW THERE ARE MORE CLOVERFIELD MONSTERS OMG GUYS!! then I would probably be more excited for the movie. Sadly we live in a time when the grey/gritty Military Industry vs Godzilla angle is the one marketers want to present. Maybe the twist ending or, post-credit scenes will show that MUTO was some kind of vanguard working for King Ghidora or Destroya or some such thing.
