So. As you all know, Megaupload has been seized by the FBI. Servers set up in Hong Kong have been shut down by the US. And New Zealander creators have been arrested.
For 50... freaking... years. The creators of Megaupload are in jail for half a freaking century....
A rapist in the united states gets on average 20 years. A bank robber? 25. Murderer? 30ish (If you've been reaaaally good.)
So WHY are the megaupload staff getting half a bloody century!? Because they are responsible for all the content their users posted? Responsible for loosing some companies a bit of revenue?
I'm sorry... But arresting foreigners for breaking American laws is pushing it. Giving the Megaupload staff 50 years... that's taking the piss. Imagine the prisoner banter.
