So, was reading/watching an LP of Mechcommander today and I got on a bit of a nostalgic BattleTech trip wanted to play MechWarrior 4 Mercenaries (the only mechwarrior 4 game thats decent lol) and the game wouldn't run.
Kept saying files were missing would crash.

So I went to reinstall it, but I couldn't find the installation files id downloaded from MekTek; and when I went to the site I get...

The connection was reset

So um yeh.

Is it just firefox for me? Or is the site die or something?

I also just tried it using that shitheap called Internet Explorer. And same thing.

You should be able to just run the installer program you already downloaded.

Don't talk poo about the other MechWarrior games mate. 3 was quite a bit deeper and you could do a lot more customization (twas based on weight without arbitrary "this can only take this kind of weapon" slots). 4 is much more arcade like.

Okay...

Firstly, as I said I no longer have the installer. I thought I did - I usually keep stuff like that on my External HD. But it was gone.
Hence why I went to Mektek to redownload it (I could just reinstall from my CD but the Mektek version is vastly improved).

Secondly, I didn't say the other MechWarrior games were crap. I said the other MechWarrior FOUR games were crap. IE MechWarrior 4 and it's expansion Black Knight.
Mercenaries was a great step up from that (though still not as good as prior MechWarrior games); and the Mektek release improved it even further.

So I am asking about the website.

Mektek.net seems to have died? But there's nothing on their FB page or Twitter feed about it.

Anyone else having trouble?

Ah, the problem seems to have been solved.

I can now get onto the site.

Not sure why I couldn't before. If they were down or what. lol.
