No, I'm not asking for your personal, tragic memories. But rather just random little memories that pop up that make you say "What the hell was I thinking?" or "Damn that was stupid of me..." Surely I can't be the only one this happens to. When a memory just springs up brought on by really nothing in particular, as if your mind was just wanting to make fun of you for a moment by saying "Hey! Remember when you acted like a total ass 10 years ago?" This kind of thing happens to me at random moments, and one just now afflicted me.
Back in high school (which indeed was about 10 years ago) I was part of the chess club. I'm pretty good at chess, but was by no means the best player in the club. One day I was playing the top player in the club and was REALLY getting into it, pouring all of my focus and thought into the game. It really was unprecedented, I was doing pretty damn good for myself, the best game I had ever played against this guy. It got down to my king and a pawn vs his king and a pawn and the race was on to see who could get their pawn queened first...and I won the race! Excitement took over and I made a stupid move, however, that allowed him to queen his pawn in the next move, place me in check, then take my new queen with his. I ALMOST HAD THE BASTARD! Then I went and screwed it all up. "If I had only moved there instead of there!!!!"
So yeah, that's the type of thing I'm talking about. Just little blips of memories of things that happened a long time ago that pop up every now and then and make you say "God damnit, brain, shut the hell up and stop thinking about that."
