I would like flowers. But only roses.

Not the "Oh its valentine's day" roses, I'm talking about the ones like in V for Vendetta. Those roses are badass. Why? The Dark Tower series uses them, and, I don't know, they just make me happy. weird huh?

So today I went to the Grocery store with a friend of mine. She stopped to look at some flowers and proceeded to ask me; "Do you think my BF would like these?" And I respond with, "No, he's a guy." And then I got called a prick -_-. So my question is to the men in the audience: would you like to receive flowers as a gift from your girl?
I'd dig it. It'd be cool. If anyone said shit to me about it I'd just be like "hey I got flowers from my girlfriend and they're fucking awesome and if you don't like it FUCK YOU". Not every guy would dig it though - it takes a guy who is immune to peer pressure and very secure about his sexuality/masculinity to respond correctly to the gift of flowers. I'm that kind of guy for sure but I don't think all guys or even most guys are.

I've had flowers brought for me on my birthday by the misses and I enjoyed getting them, was a very nice surprise actually.

Depends, what are the flowers?-I mean- Hell no, I'm a manly man! I want a six pack or a steak!
Yeah, steak is where it's at! Or other manly things, like dumb bells or an awesome pocketknife!

[sup]Erm, what kind of flowers are they? Are they something common, like roses, or something more exotic like the passion flower? I need more stuff to study for botany[/sup]

I'd appreciate the thought, but I'm not really interested in flowers. Not because I am a guy, just because they wither and die and they are too much work for just something to look at. I'd still appreciate the gift though.

Dying plants. Great.
Well, two sides of a coin, recieving flowers from someone you're already dating is kinda meh (as a boy), buuut, if you were to recieve them from a lady friend you didnt know very well, you'd feel flattered and very nicely towards her :D
Dying plants, I lol'd. xD

To quote my friend, "real men wear flowers". Perhaps it was tongue in cheek. I don't see why men shouldn't like flowers and other such delicate and beautiful pieces of nature (unless they get hay fever or something). But generally they don't, for some reason...

Based on your definition of a "real man," I'm guessing you've never actually met a real man. They don't like flowers and wear pink, they like raw meat and wear plaid.

What's your obsession with homosexuals...pulling two random links outta your ass like that.
I can't help but admit I'm obsessed with you. I'm a homophobisexual.
You calling me a homophobe and a homosexual? That doesn't even make sense, get your shit together woman.

It is a bit of an unorthodox gift for a guy.
If my wife brought me flowers, I might think her a bit off, and even laugh, but I'd appreciate the gesture and put 'em in some water for our living room. Of course, my wife could give me a rock and I'd still keep it somewhere just because it was from her. Heck, I still have the golf-ball I ended with on the round of golf I played the morning of our wedding!

I'm sentimental like that.

I'd appreciate the gesture, but it'd be a bit weird. To be honest I wouldn't care about receiving gifts from a gf, she'd be the gift every time I saw her ^_^

Sure, I wouldn't mind some flowers. They're a sign of... affection. Or something.
Plus, gotta keep zombies off the lawn somehow, right?

Interesting question. I wouldn't mind getting flowers as a gift. Quite the opposite i would like that. And to hell with what other people/society think! (No, i'm not what most people would consider a regular guy.)

Unfortunately i never got any so far. I guess people think i wouldn't like them because i'm a guy. *sigh* Then again, i can't really blame them, since i never precisely told anyone that i do.

If it was a potted flower for my office that'd be cool.
As far as cut ones go I'd be happy she was thinking about me, but I wouldn't ever ask for flowers.

I'd accept them like you accept 3 pairs of socks on Christmas morning.

"Wow, these sure are great, thanks. I'll just uh, put them over there, yeah, ...out of the way."

Some people buy gifts to show that you know the other person (such as myself) but we generally try to be respectful to those who buy gifts for the gesture. It's just hard sometimes, especially with something so out of the left field like flowers.

I like flowers personally.

I think they're cute and really, it's an expression of love towards someone when you get them something like that.

So, yes, I would love to receive anything like that, including flowers, from a girl.

Now just to find someone who would be willing to do that for me *sobs*

As I have hayfever, I'd assume a gift of flowers would indicate that I'd pissed off my girlfriend in some way.
