A few days ago some new plot details emerged for the upcoming Men in Black 3.

Now I loved the first two films but it's been a long time since Men in Black 2, could this be a wonderful return to a classic story or a massive cash-in flop and yet another indicator that Hollywood has run out of original ideas? We won't find out till 2012 but I'm still optimistic. The first films were hilarious and even philosophical in some areas, the opposing personalities of J and K made them a fantastic duo and overall it was just plain fun.

What do you think, does this plot overview have potential? Do you want to see a third film? What worked in the last films that they absolutely need to bring into this third one?

Men in Black III will be the third installment of the film's franchise.[14] It will be released in 3D by Sony Pictures and directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, who directed the first two installments. The third was originally based on a script written by Tropic Thunder and Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa writer Etan Cohen. Sony confirmed that David Koepp would serve as an additional screenwriter, joining Cohen. Koepp is currently rewriting a new draft of the script, which takes place primarily in the year 1969.[15] It has been announced that Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith would reprise their roles as Agents K and J., respectively.[16] Both had previously expressed interest in reprising their roles back in 2008.[17][18]

In the sequel, Agent J (Smith) travels back in time to 1969 (by using an iPhone) to prevent Boris from murdering Agent K (Jones). Josh Brolin will play the younger, '60s version of K, and a part was originally written for Clint Eastwood to play an alternate reality Agent K. Jemaine Clement will play Boris (formerly named Yaz), an evil biker villain who escapes from prison on the moon and seeks his revenge on the Men in Black.[19]

Yeah there hasn't been much publicity for it, possibly because production hasn't started yet. 2012 still seems ages away considering how long it's been since Men in Black 2, 8 years already. I'm suddenly reminded of Toy Story 3. Hopefully it'll be worth the wait like that film was.

I'm on the fence, the first movie was very well done. The second wasn't that great in my opinion but still fun to watch.

Personally I think Hollywood is starting to run out of ideas, they keep bringing back old series (Toy Story for example) and attempt to milk it again. Don't get me wrong I have no problem with this just as long as the proper time, effort, and quality are put into these films.

This sounds nice, I liked the two first ones, even if I was young and just liked the running around blasting things, maybe I've grown up and wouldn't like them anymore? I guess we'll find out in about 2-3 years.

I've been a fan of his since the fresh prince, I just find him hilarious. The fact that hes hot doesnt hurt either...
