Hey all. I am an avid listener of all things metallic, and I want to expand from the typical American and Scandinavian bands and into some from the other bits of the globe. Any suggestions?

That's off the top of my head, I know there's a couple of American and Scandinavian bands in there, but there's a whole bunch of genres, so you could find something you like, and look into it.

Firewind - Greek Power Metal band, pretty good as well. Gus G is a great guitarist.

Arch Enemy. All the other stuff I can think of that isn't American is Scandinavian power/folk. Korpiklaani, Ensiferum, Finntroll and Sonata Arctica are some of my favourites.
Oh, and Alestorm.

I state my opinion then you tell me to learn what an opinion is. Funny because everything anyone says that isn't recounting or asking is their opinion and even accounting is only telling one side of the story most of the time.

It's more the words "If you're listening to groove metal stop now" that were a little disturbing. Sorry if you didn't mean them though.

And yes, I really want to see Agalloch live...I hope they come to Bloodstock

I'm sorry I really hate groove metal besides the obvious 4 I stated earlier. Its probably because the bands are trying so hard to be death metal but make it ironic enough for 12 year olds to get into them. Best examples are LOG(Randy is so fucking annoying to hear), 5FDP(How can anyone take them seriously?), Chimaira(They did nu-metal to draw the trend kids then do groove metal to gain credibility with true metalheads). Not to mention groove metal is pretty much the reason of the metalcore and deathcore genres and how much of a lump of shit most of it is.

Industrial =/= metal. And if that's what you're after, Laybach are significantly better than Rammstein

Go with Moonsorrow, or maybe Chthonic.

Then add a sprinkle of Arcturus and Six Feet of Foreplay.

Finish it off with Demilich.
