I tried getting on MGO many times. But each time I tried, it said I needed to update, which I tried but nothing seemed to be downloading even after leaving the console on for a while. So I gave up.

Shame. It looked pretty interesting. Hopefully they release something like this on the PSN. Just a multiplayer metal gear solid or something. Would be nice.

Meh. The real strength of that game is the single player. Trying to shoehorn multiplayer out of anything other than a dedicated fps or a racing game (add RTS and Dota type games on a PC) on a console just ends poorly. Especially when they try to turn a game that's quite clearly not an FPS into one. See the Drake series.

I use this game as an example of what to do in multiplayer. (and some things not to do, lol. DAM YOU BAD NET PROGRAMMING) Its so interesting, you actually get into it, instead of getting lazy and dying over and over. Dont think theres ever been a mode as fun and as interesting as Team Stealth.

Twisted Metals coming out, and I got the HD collection of Metal Gear. So theres that....

anyone else have the HD collection, by the way?
I've got it on 360, if you want to shoot me a PM on a weekend I'm usually able to play.

MGO wasn't shoehorned, it was fully realized and a very detailed multiplayer. It was actually really good.

Yeah, it's great! Love the MGS series (so does the other-half) so we're taking it in turns to play it, bringing back some good memories. Even dug deep and found all my MGS books.

Not su if it's out yet in the UK (Amazon says yes, but I haven't seen it on store shelves), but basically as soon as I have money!
Just to confirm, it is, I got my from Amazon but like you, can't recall seeing it in any shops.

OP - Despite never playing on-line (I could never install it or sign up, it just never worked) it's sad to see it go. I've honestly never seen a on-line game go offline before.
