Metal Gear Solid on the PSP

I looked through the internet with no answer in sight, but then again the search bar on this website has never worked well for me, even when I know the whole title of a thread. Since I am not at the points in the game where these questions are relevant, it may be some easy unmissable go around added, but here we go.

The other day I bought Metal Gear Solid off of the PSN.

My question is this.
Is it actually possible to complete the entire game on the PSP alone?
I ask this because I simply have no idea how I'd do the Psycho Mantis fight.
Also, the PSN version seems to have no manual or anything similar for extra information, so am I forced to search teh interwebs for Meryl's codec number later?

An alternate method of beating Psycho Mantis ^^, made in case of a broken controller port.

As for Meryl's Codec, it is 140.15. Campbell will tell you when you need to use it.

Thank for that video. I would never have thought of that myself.

It's quite easy to find Meryl's number online. For that question I was mostly curious about being expected to look it up since it was originally a DRM thing.

Can't you change the controller port by pressing the home button or something? (I don't remember exactly, I haven't even seen my PSP for a long time.)
