Too early to tell what its all about, but I cant see it being a stealth game. Thats just my opinion though.
Well it's Raiden, and it can't have too many deeply routed connections to the original plot if it's on both consoles. But it will, because it's Kojima. Think a shinier version of the MGS2 Raiden campaign, and MGS2 was the best in the series.

Anyone have any idea where this game will be set in the MGS timeline? I was discussing this with a friend of mine (ages ago) and we decided if there was to be another MGS there's still plenty of storytelling material. Since this game revolves around Raiden I would speculate that it's about what happens to him between MGS2 and 4 (grisly). It would kinda make sense as at the end of MGS4 he sort of gets his body restored, whereas in the teaser he clearly has the ninja suit, unless of course it is a completely different Raiden (though the resemblance is too similar).

I asked this in another thread but it was locked (edit: not because of me), so I will copy and paste here:

Having only played MGS when it first came out for the PS1, I have no idea who this Raiden is. I remember some ninja type guy with a sword who could cloak himself in MGS, is this the same person, and if not, who was that guy? It's been so long, the only thing I remember is being freaked out the first time Psycho Mantis knew what other games I had been playing.

The answer is no. The ninja in MGS1 is Gray Fox (from the previous Metal Gears). Raiden was the main protagonist in MGS2, a hesitant little whinger at the time he was introduced to ease newcomers into the series. He made a return in MGS4 with the ninja suit and became a total badass. http://metalgear.wikia.com/wiki/Metal_Gear_Wiki
That ought to fill you in.

pha!

The mighty Vrex has no time for this game, it is time for him to bathe in money in a golden tub, good day.

Okay seriously I probably won't have anything to do with this, but seriously it would be nice if people could stop complaining about this... you know what's strange? Bungie is talking about a Halo Reach (something I have no real interest in) and no one has made a thread about how they are 'milking the sagging teats of the milkless cow that is Halo' because they are all too occupied making 'why an MGS sequel on the 360 is a travesty' threads.

Another Metal Gear Solid? Why?! WHY?!

Why is there over twenty Final Fantasy games including all the bullshit spin-offs?

Why is there a little over a half dozen Resident Evil games about a shitty story and shittier gameplay?

Why is there about six metal gear solids if you count those card battle games despite the story being shit and the gameplay being about as stimulating as watching yourself age in a mirror?

But you won't see a sequel or remake of Planescape: Torment.

You won't see a sequel to Beyond Good and Evil.

You won't see a sequel to Killer 7.

And you certainly won't see much originality at all. Why? Because why would I try to be original when I can make just as much money improving the graphics, adding a few new guns and locales, and adding to the story of my previous game? I mean why would I start over from scratch when I can just spin the same game i've been shoveling.
Would you want some cheese with your whine?
I do beleive the term is pwnege

Ah ok, thanks. I guess I'll have to continue the series, after I replay MGS.

"Live up to" MGS4? I think you mean "Live DOWN to".

And meh, I couldn't care less. I'm just happy that Sony lost exclusive rights to it.
Wow, that's kind of low even for someone that has a Halo avatar.
Why don't you just politely go away and post in the forums about ODST and Reach (which will certainly "Live DOWN to" the standard of Halo 3, see what I did there?), simple to say that your help is not needed here.
Ooh yes, but you see, I don't care. I'm a very low person, and I loves me some Halo, no matter what other people say. It's called being true to my own principles.

You should try it some time.
Hey glad to see SOMEONE loves Halo :3

It'll probably be like DMC/Ninja Gaiden because that's the only way I see it functioning.
Agreed, I'm hoping they t least make it similar to the Ninja levels on MGS: VR Missions.

Let me get this straight. You are complaining because no one has started yet another Halo thread?

Not really, I'm stating an observation. I had expected that Halo Reach would be met by escapist wide revilation but so far nothing. I mean personally I think this is a great sign.
