Well, if this game is in video game hell... let it stay there. Metal Gear has been laid to rest and just leave it that way. If you get rid of the VAs just don't bother with it. Take the mechanics and make a different game.

Forget rising, how about they do one more Big Boss games showing how he became a villain in Metal Gear?
We have MGS3 and its ending, what more do you need?

As for a 2012 release? I think that's VERY optimistic, I wouldn't be surprised if this game is never heard of again.
Why is that?

Anyways: I think they just want to keep out the voice actors until the very last minute as a reaction to what happened with Assassin's Creed...

It's also possible that Konami acquired new voice actors to further distance this spin-off from the rest of the MGS series ... thus using Flynn would only confuse players.
Say what?

MGS Rising is meant to be set between MGS2 and MGS4 and apparently should give us some insight as to how Raiden went from whining idiot to total badass. He was voiced by Flynn in both those games... I would say that changing his voice actor during that period would be the one thing that DOES confuse players. It sure has confused me...

Anyway, if you want to distance this game from the main series, changing the voice actor for an already established character doesn't sound like the way to go. Just change the story and setting, move away from the Metal Gear mech variants and the Patriots and do something different with it.

I hope Flynn gets this role again. I'm willing to give Raiden another chance.

He's a great voice actor and I can't imagine Raiden without him, I don't understand the intense hatred some fans have for the character, he gets annoying at times but nothing that ruined the experience for me. Not to mention this is set between 2 and 4, so it would be weird to not have him doing it, I could understand if it was set years later or something.

I keep forgetting about this game and it seems odd that we haven't heard anything about it in ages. I hope they're not having trouble, because while I'm not as excited due to Kojima not being the main guy behind it, it's a Metal Gear game and I will get it straight away.

I'm expecting this game to be delayed until 2013 if nothing comes up at E3 this year.
