I used to love this show, especially in the first two seasons. They were gory and hilarious, and the greatest fifteen minutes ever.

But, third season came along, and the shows just aren't so good, and are rather boring and not as funny. Also, what the fuck happened to the Tribune? And that mysterious man with the long white hair?

What do you guys think? Do you enjoy the older episodes or the newer?

EDIT: I just watched newest episode and they showed the Tribune again... and was pretty cool... Talking more about the manager, Charles's background. Hell, it even ended with the same cliff hangar crap it used to end with. It seems it took them an entire season of thirty minute episodes to get back to its roots...

Its become more plot focused, thats why there is less comedy. But I like the story so far, so I'll keep watching it to the end.

I think it has a lot to do with the shift from the 15-minute format to a full half-hour. It's presumably very difficult to tell a consistent story when your show's broadcast time is half that of others, so it makes sense that in the first two seasons, the plot was basically just a vehicle for jokes and violence. Now that there's more time to fill, the episodes are equal parts violence, jokes and legitimate plotting (or as legit as anything on AS gets, anyway).

Personally, I don't find the third season to be worse, per se. It's definitely much slower, and I do occasionally miss the frantic pace of the earlier episodes, but it's still a great show. I think the writers are taking the characters and the various plot strands to interesting places.

Oh, no, not worse. It still has its moments. I do miss the big moments of gore, though. There's not so much of it lately. And it's hard for me to get into the episode stories for some reason, except those that involve the Tribune. Such as Toki trying to restart Rockzo's career. And the random songs they play (not the metal ones).

I have't seen the third season yet, I'll reserve judgement til then.
But yes the comedy was gold but some of the gore was a bit unnerving and in some situations, unnecessary, but some of it was good.
