Metaphor Meltdown

The premise is simple. One can either come up with a topic, or create a metaphor or simile to go with a previous topic.

EX: Fanfiction...

... Is like an oozing sore bursting open on the surface of the pale skin of the internet.

Hate to get into semantics, but you mean simile, not metaphor. Simile compares two things to each other with a "like" or "as". Metaphor doesn't use these words, and so is more direct. Compare "Life is like a box of chocolates. You can never tell what you'll get until you open it up." with "All the world's a stage, all the men and women merely players."

Not that there's anything wrong with simile. You could change the title to "Simile Showdown" or something.

Anyway, I'll start us off:

...like Zubats where I work, whenever I'm trying to get somewhere else they always slow me down.

Family is like...

... A bunch of plants in the same field. They may be detrimental to each other, but they live together because there is no other option.

A house is...

 

[Barbas]

...like a public place where it is considered acceptable or even inevitable for you to walk around butt-naked.

Spanish is...

 

[Terratina.]

...bullfighting: sometimes graceful, other times brutal.

Welsh is...

 

[Barbas]

...like listening to someone speaking with a mouth full of cutlery and bees.

School is like...
