He really shouldn't. It's a damn shame this is probably the only Metroid we're going to see for at least 1/2 a decade.

I wonder if Nintendo will greenlight another retro product since Other M (so deservedly) flopped.

Ehh, I think it's fair for a company without any share in the PC market to expect their IP to not be dragged around by the average Newgrounds user (see: Metroid Elements http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4SFtIayovY ). That said, it's always disappointing when something legitimately good looking runs the risk of getting shut down.

Maybe they could just make a Metroidvania style game without Samus? Until then, this just made me want to replay Super Metroid.
