Ok, after going through the News Feed and seeing the new Metroid trailer, a chilly feeling of Deja Vu hit me. Old games returning in a new 3D format.. Sonic. I do not want my beloved Samus Aran to go the ways of Sonic, so how do you feel about this new 3D? i personally detest it, and hope we won't have to see the release of "Metroid Adventures".

2D games should remain 2D. Games that are made to be 3D are good because they're supposed to be 3D. 3D 2D games (if that makes sense) just don't work well.

Uhh, dude, there have been four 3D Metroid titles, all released to critical acclaim.

The Metroid Prime games were phenomenal. Unfortunately Nintendo made the huge mistake of giving Metroid to Team Ninja. There is a silver lining though, now that Itagaki is gone (the disgusting crater-faced creator of Ninja Gaiden) there's a chance Team Ninja might be able to produce a good game.

I would be surpised if they could.
From the trailer it looks like a J-rpg.
Worse i know the "Trailer" Graphics are not the "Normal,non-cutsecne graphics" So i have serious droughts on how good it's going to look.

looks nice, but it loses points for continuing the story from fusion. nobody gives a crap about adam malkovich.

EDIT: wait, unless they got JOHN Malkovich to do his voice. then i'm absolutely behind this.

LIES. Fusion was great, and the story shouldn't be restricted to the time between the first one and the second (as the Prime games were). Why can't they tell the story they refer to in Fusion?

I liked fusion but the prime series kinda has the samus as a loner.
So what, with this one we get "Team member samus"?

Fusion was pretty good, i just hate the way they crammed backstory into a bunch of inner monologues. i much prefer the text-free cutscenes in zero mission, or the lore scans in the Prime games.

I think Nintendo should of continued The Adam Malkovich storyline with Metroid Dread for the DS instead of the Wii. But I think this was supposed to be the planned Metroid Dread. I'd like the game to be more of a 2D Sidescroller.

Metroid Dread sounds like the game I've wanted for a long time. 2D sidescroller on the DS, and continues the story after Fusion.
Why aren't they making this?

I am really against this. Knowing Team Ninja, this action adventure series is going to be turned into another lame run n' gun game. Plus, I would not be suprised if Team Ninja adds an entierly unneccessary stealth level filled with air ducts just to show off zero suit Samus' ass from a rear camera angle. Speaking of which, I am also against the 3rd person camera. I enjoy the 2D Metroid games, but the 3D ones are best kept in 1st person. Half of the excellent exploration was the view point. Nintendo better keep a VERY tight leash on Team Ninja. I have not enjoyed any team Ninja games, and if they soil my favorite series, they will be an even worse gaming industry threat then EA or even Activision.

Come to think of it, I don't know why Retro Studios gets a lot of flack. They are an excellent studio. Even Hunters was good considering portable system limitations.

Dude, Metroid Prime was an amazing series of Metroid titles. Those were full-3D, as well as first-person.

Lots of 2.5D fighters in the world.

Exactly, Metroid Prime 3 was phenomenally awesome, drawing me in instantly.

My fears too.
Seriously a girl with a gun arm is not sexy.
Neither is making out with a Sherman tank.

True, I've just never been a particular fan of fighting games so I'm sure I've missed out on playing a lot of them.
