there are 3 EB games and 2 JB HI FI's in my imediet area..and it would seem NONE of them have the metroid prime trillogy[footnote/] the only decent games out of the whole f***ing Wii libary and they don't have it[/footnote]...with the Wii U it seems the Wii section is fading fast...

do as frustrating as that is I guess I'm going to be gettinf them on Ebay....which brings about anotehr option

should I just get the trilogy on Ebay?...OR should I go for the gamecube versions? (since I already have the third metroid prime..and the Wii is backwards compatible right?)

is there any notable difference between the two versions?

also second question...in terms of controlls I want to get eather a gamecube controller or a "classic" controller since I'm not flaiing my arms around like an idiot...will the gamecube games work with a "Wii classic controller" and/or will the Wii games work with a gamecube controller? will I be fine with eather?

If you buy the trilogy, the controls were reworked to match that of Metroid Prime 3 with the motion and all that jazz. At least, that's what I was told. True or not, thought I would ,mention that. Personally I like the GameCube better than the Wii, despite backward compatibility. Although looking at it objectively, go with whichever option is cheaper. Is the trilogy more expensive or cheaper to get than buying the separate games? I'd do the cheaper route, but that's just me.

Personally, I've always had a lot of trouble playing first-person shooters with a gamepad. Weirdly, though, the Wiimote's pointer works close enough to a mouse that I'm perfectly capable of playing games like Metroid Prime with one. What's more, only Corruption (if you buy the trilogy set) uses any form of 'proper' motion controls, and they're a lot more responsive and accurate than in a lot of games - including ones with Wii Motion Plus.

So, yeah, Wii.

do you know if its possible to play Matroid Prime 3 (the last one on the Wii) with a agmecube controller? since going the gamecube route seems the cheapest

I don't think so. Not entirely positive since I no longer have a Wii to try it out with(or the game, for that matter), but I'm like, 80% sure it requires a wiimote+nunchuck.

I'd just get the Gamecube versions. The Wii trilogy is kind of rare and its expensive. I've seen it at Gamestop used for 70 bucks. Since you already have 3 you can probably pick up 1 and 2 and pay less than 10 bucks.

why is it so rare? I mean for F**** sake

ok, mabye it wouldn't have been a huge seller but it justs seems Nintendo....are really dumb somtimes, making thease things more easyly availible can help with making a series more popular (since metroid is no doubt the "bronze medal" of the Nintendo "tri-franchises")

in fact...looking over the Wii section (or what remained of it in one store..shoved into the corner) actually made me angry..I thourght to myself

"look at all this CRAP! fucking shovelware shit....NO decent games...IS THIS what you wanted Nintendo? is THIS what youve been reduced too? I dont give a flying fuck "amazing" the latest Mario game aparently is...THIS is just sad..."

you know what? I'd almost wish Metroid would get bought by somone...even EA...I ont like the Idea of it being tethered to a half dead hoarse.../rant

Yeah I'm disappointed by the Wii. My Wii collects dust most the time. Another thing is the damn motion controls. I thought it would be cool at first, but to me it just feels like an unresponsive gimmick. Everything done with the remote could be done better by just having a standard controller. I love Mario and Zelda, but the motion controls just made it a major headache. Other than that the only good Wii games for me have been Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story. Luckily both of those have no motion controls whatsoever and best played with the classic controller. Hell, I've thought about selling the damn thing. However, I like the virtual console and GC compatibility. I sold my GC when I got a Wii.

I may as well just paint Samus on the side and call it the Metroid box since thats all it seems good for

I am somwhat Curious as to how the Wii U will go....but even now Im just not sure where its market lies...and TBH It feels to late to sell my Wii since its not really worth much and I may as well keep it

If you've got a Gamecube just get them for that. Probably won't spend more than 20 bucks for two great games. I got my copy of Prime for 10 bucks. Probably gonna get Echoes later for another 10.

Get the GC versions. Aim with the wii is really tiring and honestly, not really that much better than lock on.
