THE METAL GEAR SOLID CONSOLE WARS!!!
Doesn't ring any bells? Well... maybe not. But here's my idea:
A couple of months ago, I posted this at the Screwattack forum. Well now I want to share it with you on the escapist, so please enjoy this.
I'm going to make a list, which will contain some of the characters from the MGS series. And each of these characters will have a specific console that, I think, is the console they would prefer if they existed in real life. Are you still with me? Good, then let's start.
(SPOILER WARNING!!! Spoilers on the series may happen. You have been warned)
#1. Solid Snake/Old Snake
Solid Snake is badass. There is no argument here. It doesn't matter how old he is, he could kick your ass back then and he can kick your ass now.
But what console does he stick with? Well, I've done some research and I think I have come up with an answer.
The MSX2. Granted, it's a computer, but I've come to the conclusion (after a little help from a fellow G1) that I can count it in... But just in this case.
Now, Snake has only had a couple of games on the MSX2. But they where pretty awesome. In both of them he kicked Metal Gears ass, Big Boss's ass, and escaped the self-destruct sequence. That's badass.
Now, when Metal Gear Solid kicked off, Snake didn't have that much luck. If it weren?t for FOXDIE in the first game, Liquid would have pwnd Snake. And in Metal Gear Solid 2, Snake is pushed aside by Raiden. In 3 he isn't in the game, and in 4... Well, he wasn't exactly in his prime. Was it because his age? No, it was because Snake prefers a keyboard over a controller.
#2. Liquid Snake
Another badass character. Liquid is one of the coolest bad guys I've seen in a video game. He's leaner, meaner, and has a scientificall advantage over Solid Snake (although it doesn't make him better as we all know). He's bad to the bone and hates his brother with a passion, although he does have a sense of connection to his sibling. Even in death he came back to kick some ass.
What console is it that Liquid wants? The Playstation 1. Making his début in Metal Gear Solid, he has kicked ass ever since.
#3. Raiden
Love him or hate him, but in my opinion, Raiden has proved himself to be a badass. He's a cyborg ninja for crying out loud, how cool isn't that? While many people didn't give him that much of a warm welcome when he first arrived in Metal Gear Solid 2, I hope you all agree that he made up for it in Metal Gear Solid 4. He kicked serious ass, and he wasn't playable. Perfect.
His console? Xbox 360. Why? For 3 reasons:
1. He's a ninja. And ninjas belong with the Xbox. (Sigma is worse than the original Ninja Gaiden in my opinion)
2. See all those combos he's doing to the Gecko's? He's obviously trying to get a couple of achievements.
3. You know why he wanted to sacrifice himself in the end? Because he didn't have a reason to live anymore since he couldn't play on his xbox360 without any arms.
Now people, this is not because there was a 360 game announced with Raiden as the main character at E3. Belive it or not, but I posted this list a couple of days before the announcement was made. The original post is here:

#4. Revolver Ocelot
"I love to reload during a battle! There's nothing like the feeling of slamming a long silver bullet into a well greased chamber..." You kinky, kinky man.
But seriously, Ocelot is badass. And so are his gunslinger moves. He's been in every Metal Gear Solid game to date, and he always kicks ass. He even knows the falcon punch! But only if you use the fusion card with Liquid (Yeah, that was a Yu-Gi-Oh joke)
What's his console? The Nintendo Wii. And for obvious reasons. If he can toy with his badass revolver pistols, then imagine what he would do with the Wii Remote. If Ocelot got his hands on the Wii Remote, he would be unstoppable. How could Snake beat him in the end of MGS4? By plugging out his nunchuk.
#5. Otacon.
He's a pansy, he's a coward, and he's smart. Otacon has been with Snake since the first MGS, and hasn't left his side since. Giving useful information and treating us to hilarious Easter eggs, Otacon is a good friend and a good partner.
What is his console? The Ps3. All of you that have beaten MGS4 know that Otacon has a hard on for the ps3. He even interrupts Snake in the middle of the game, just to end the conversation with some free promotion for the Ps3. Not very subtle Otacon. Not very subtle...
6# Big Boss/Naked Snake
This guy is the definition of badass. He's the "father" of Solid, Solidus, and Liquid snake, he inspired Ocelot into becoming what he is today, and he even had the balls to execute his mentor and friend. That's cool.
So what system does Big Boss play on? The answer: None of them! Big Boss doesn't play games, he's always serious.
