Okay, so I'm reviewing Micro Machines 64, an old game for the N64.
It was a relatively creative game. You had 8 characters, and a gigantic smorgasboard of levels, in about 7-8 different scenarios, ranging from dinner table to school to pond. It was a top down game in which if you got your opponent to go offscreen, your meter went up and his went down. Whoever filled their meter first or had more in their meter crossing the line on the final lap won. It also had some fun weapons (grapple hook, hammer, sheild/bounce ball). You could determine the speed level that you want (1-5, slow to fast). The controls were a bit hard to get a hold of, but once you got it you were good. You did, however, lose control quite often. Also, it's no fun alone. You need to have someone playing with you in order to make it entertaining. Anybody who's played, you know what I'm talking about. As every game does, it has problems. Every once in a while, you'd be the one that went ahead, but still died. Also, on one or two of the levels, there are some areas that are impossible to navigate. The characters were quite stereotyped, but I loved the different vehicles: Drag Car, Monster Truck, Pickup Truck, Dune Buggy, Boat, and a couple of others. It all depended on which level you're on.
In short, 9/10.
If you can find a copy, pick it up.
I had so much fun with this. Still do...
