Recently, my 360 took a turn for the worst and red ringed, and it was so horrible i almost cried, so i got ready to phone up microsoft and realised that it was only one red ring instead of three. When i phoned microsoft, they said that the three year warranty didn't cover this problem and I had to pay £100.00 just to get it fixed, even though it would take 1 month to come back and that it would break again later on. I could have bought a new xbox with that. Now I am a big fan of the xbox 360, but microsoft are going to far, they should serve there customers for free. Who is with me, please post comments about things that have gone wrong with your xbox and what happened with you.

PS I have tried everyting with my xbox but it will not work at all

1 ring is an Overheat if i recall. All you had to do was turn it off and let it cool. I could be wrong but mine does it all the time (especially when I'm playing COD WAW) and I just turn it off.

i got the E-74 error, basically makes your 360 a brick, didnt bother with tech-support, just bought a new one. first one broke 1 year into use, still have my second one since a week after the first one died.
That's covered by warranty now.

Also, I get the 1 quadrant when it gets too cold... Kind of odd...

As nice an idea as it is, I don't think it makes a lot of business sense to provide a lifetime warranty for a console that's likely to be out of vogue inside of the next three or four years.

That actually makes perfect sense. People will feel better about buying it now and you won't have to fix the bricks if people just stop playing them anyway.

I got one red quadrant once. I got scared, but then my friend pointed out it was just because a cable wasn't connected the whole way. You may want to check into that.

I love the games for it, but one can't deny the xbox360 is a cheap and shoddy piece of engineering shite that is unfit for purpose.

By the way, anyone who has had an E74 problem - it's covered now. Not only that but if you have already paid to have it fixed you will get your money back soon.

Ehm I don't mean to intrude, but Microsoft, cheap money mongers that they may be, have patched both issues, more or less.
The overheating is more end user flaw, though Microsoft has adressed it, and you can buy a 360 cooling station for like $20. RROD was caused by the Application Specific Interface Chip blowing out, and Microsoft has since hired an outside company to make better chips, so newer consoles should not get Red Ring.

Problem solved?

Don't get you're hopes up just when you think your x-box is safe. out of the blue it dies.

I had this with Oblivion. It also helps to take the disc out after playing every once in a while. I got disc errors sometimes which is also caused by overheating.

Yeah, I hate Microsoft. I wouldn't get a 360 even if they dropped the price to a single cent.
