Anyone else get a chuckle out of the irony at work here?
By speaking out about Sony's Announcement "That people won't hear/care about", they are only drawing attention to said announcement.

So the only way that works in their favor, is if nobody cares about their denouncement about the announcement they aren't supposed to know or care about.

...This is a loxodrome of stupid.

This is kind of baffling. I mean, what they're saying essentially amounts to "the majority of people who buy video games don't follow industry announcements," which is true, but...so? Are they saying that companies shouldn't announce things?

It seems like they just felt the need to respond because Sony said a thing, but didn't actually have content to put in the response.

Microsoft's "here and now" currently consisting of one exclusive title this year, declining sales, and a growing sense of apathy amongst gamers on things like Xbox Live Gold?

There's no use trying to brush it under the rug. They've been trying to do that to PC gaming for years now.

I get that Microsoft needs to focus on their own efforts, but ignoring their biggest competitor just seems childish and arrogant.

So I guess I was just imagining the internet going nuts when Watch Dogs was revealed? And all this news about people finally getting excited for the 3DS thanks to its upcoming games? I suppose the industry focus on pre-order bonuses and reserves are just a figment of my imagination?

Seriously Microsoft, I dare you to try and stuff that foot further down your throat.
The internet is only a small minority of their consumer base. Microsoft is 100% right in what they are saying but its also so obvious it doesnt really need to be said. Very few people give a shit about something that is not going to come out for more then a month.
