I think that people are reading this wrong. It means that if you are an independent developer (which one comment states they won't even allow to publish on the XBox One), they will have to pay the same price as EA or Ubisoft to be on the system. Meaning that it's not a platform for any developer that has original ideas. This folks, is not a new game console. It's a CoDBox or an AssCreedBox. All the more reason to not worry about purchasing one. If half of the stuff they have stated is true, it's not worth buying.

"Hence, you have things like Xbox Live Indie Games, which showcases high-quality, low-profile titles away from the blinding glare of the mainstream." Err, not exactly. To be fair, 90% of the games that crop up on XBLIG are outright terrible, with dozens of Minecraft clones and games about shooting zombies in an arena/from a top down view. Because the service is so low profile, few people actually bother to put real effort into anything they put up, and instead make things that pander to the Xbox community in order to entice them into just dropping a dollar on something.

Misleading title. they are not dropping the arcade, they are merging it with regualr games section, which, in m,y opinion, is an improvement.

So long as they don't crowd the "Just Games" hub with Triple-A games, this could work.
Unfortunately, that's not how Microsoft does business. Whoever pays more will get the lime light, and we all know who has that kind of cash.
