Microsoft E3 games running on PC

I thought it was pretty much common knowledge nowadays that pretty much all the stuff at E3 is run on PCs?

I thought so too, doesn't someone turn this into a controversy every year? Maybe this year it's getting more attention and notoriety because people are ready to jump on Microsoft for every little thing.

Every year at E3, most of the shiny gameplay videos are running on PCs. It's been like that for years, even generations, back to PS2 and Xbox and possibly even before.

It's not that they were run on PC's; rather, they were run on Windows 7 as opposed to 8, and on a high-end rig as opposed to specs more in line with that of the Xbone.

Even Microsoft doesn't support Windows 8.

It is mostly common knowledge that they use PC to showcase their games, though the fact that they do it is no less shameful if you ask me. If they aren't trying to showcase the awesome power of their new console they shouldn't try to disguise it with an Xbox controller. I doubt Sony is any less guilty in this regard.

At least with Nintendo it's a pretty safe bet that you're playing the actual console, what with all the weird gadgetry and zero cross platform support. Not that Nintendo gives 3/4 of a shit about graphics anyway.

Look on the bright side, maybe this means the wireless X1 controllers work with Windows 7 out of the box.

That would be nice. Also, if we could get some of those "exclusives" on PC (which some of them are going to be).

I'm not surprised (it happens a lot) although I could of sworn I heard someone in a presentation say all there games were running on the console, maybe it was ubisoft I honestly can't remember.

Although what did a certain EA employee state? The Consoles far ahead of the pc? Yeah...as I said before my 2 660TI's beg to differ (hell even one of them)...At least we know that the new controller will work on PC which is the only good news to come out of the new xbox as it actually looks alright to use (my current 360 is starting to squeak).

Honestly though considering how close we are to the release of the xbone I would have thought they would of had enough working final prototypes for a big a convention as E3, maybe the xbone relies too much on its cloud functions to use offline? that's the only thing that really comes to mind as to why they couldn't use the console.

It's not about the games as much as it's about the hardware. They were supposed to show us their new console. Yet they didn't even bring a working product. We know how the games usually look and preform on the 360 so it's not a big deal when they use the PC. But no one knows how the Xbone preforms and how the games will actually look on it because they didn't use the Xbone.

During the Xbox 360's debut E3 showing, they also used PCs. Same for PS3, original Xbox, PS2, etc. It's weird that they were using a higher end PC I admit, but the fact that they were using a PC isn't at all surprising nor should they be getting flak for it.
