L to the O to the L to the Z

I really shouldn't laugh though I was all for Microsoft this generation, The 360 rules, asides from the red ringing, but that's all been taken care of.

But Microsoft has just been a comedy of errors lately and it's hard to imagine how much worse it can get than pissing off literally every active duty Navy Seal.

You dun goofed Microsoft.
Your console is bad and you should feel bad!
All your forward operating base are belong to Sony
I used to be a console manufacture, until I took an Xbone to the knee
Other Meme that expresses displeasure!

They're responce to everyone who comes out and says that they can't get a reliable internet connection is 'I'd be disappointed too'. I don't think it's disappointment, annoyance is more like it. Why on earth would you make a console that you know is definitely going to be a problem for people? It's just dumb really.

Call me petty, but I really hope this helps to sink the Xbone in their flagship country, the US of A.

As I understand it, you chaps are very proud of your military, so hearing that 'Microsoft hates Soldiers' will no doubt do wonders for their post-E3 downward spiral.
Personally I think they just don't understand that soldiers don't get good internet. In their mind it's the way of the future, and everyone in the US is rich save for a few extremely backwards shitholes. They may not hate the military, but they are completely out of touch with reality.
Oh yeah, I get that, I think everyone but Microsoft knows they're swinging for a miss, here. I'm just thinking of how some of the more right-wing news publications in the Americas might run with the story.

My family does quite well and are in no way poor or backward. But they do live on a farm and have to use rural wireless internet. The best speeds that are realistically affordable are about a 2 down .5 up connection. Fine for browsing, email, etc but it would never work for the XBone. It has nothing to do with being poor, just living outside of the city. Kind of sucks.

i was wondering about this as well. on the one hand if they badmouth the xb1 then they are effectivly hearding money away from US and towards japan. but on the other hand saying group Y does not respect our soldiers sells.
if they wanted to they could really kick up a stink over this and take it away from gaming and towards patriotic feelings of support our troops. if you dont support our troops you are unamerican and that can lead to you are hurting the war on terror, all it takes is (like in the artical) a uniformed guy on camera saying "i unwind with my 360 or at least i used to i cant do that anymore onbase its taken a toll on my nerves and im not doing my job as well" once you get something like it can quickly turn into a witch hunt.

im not saying they for sure are going to do this. its hard to say what the right wing media likes more patriotism or corporations. but if they wanted to they could do this so easy

I'm willing to bet Major Nelson of Microsoft will make a douche-bag comment to our armed forces on this latest issue with the Xbone. And the military will reply with either a nuclear strike on Microsoft HQ or send in Seal Team Six to take them out.

Microsoft, you think this is just alienating military service members? Think again and check your pockets.

In America where the majority of the population is obsessively gung-ho about anything and everything military, this is a bigger slight than they realize. It's not just the service men and women that are effected, it's their families as well. By saying, "we don't care about the military," now you've encouraged every single extended family member to not buy the box. All it will take to destroy your revenue is for that statement to make it to the mass media (CNN, ABC, FOX News in particular). If so much as one conservative news anchor gets this news he's sure to call it a Blasphemy Against 'Merica and BOOM, there goes half of the North America sales, the majority buyer of the XBOX brand.

So WW3 is going to be started not over natural resources, not over religion, not over implacable xenophobia, but because a few military types get fed up with microsoft's moronic business practices and decide to nuke them.
hey, we're nuking our own country, it's a civil war, not a world war, bucko.

'murica isn't the entire world, you know. it'll be a world war for microsoft, though, they think that 'murica is the only thing in the world.

I have to give them credit I really do, I mean do you know how hard it is to single handedly piss off every military in the world at the same time? America as a country hasn't even managed that and we've done some seriously fucked up things and at least some people will admit we have. Microsoft on the other hand is blindly pushing forward thinking that they'll make up the lost sales with all this online crap but they won't because this isn't a few people going to another console, from all the outrage this is shaping up to be a mass exodus. Someone else said it in an earlier post that they'll lose 50% of their current users and that's only if everyone that has connected their 360 to the internet buys one. Which is so not happening if this keeps up and this many people don't buy an xbox that's the death knell right there.

I'm so excited.

I spent 11 years in the NAVY and I used to rarely go online with my consoles, only when I was at home would I go online. So to me even Xbox Life was useless, why pay for something I'd use 3 months a year; specially when those 3 months were mostly spent drunk and enjoying failing at making kids

I can't imagine even considering buying an xbone if I was still in the service

While I dislike a lot of the unnecessary restrictions Microsoft has built into their console the military market is overall pretty small and hopefully service men and women will buy a PS4, since they will be able to play that offline.

In other news, Microsoft has decided to ban the sale and use of the Xbone to anyone who is considered mentally unstable, where the definition of mentally unstable is anyone who wishes to purchase or use the Xbone.

Will be the same for the Merchant Navy and Offshore industries as well due to you getting a limited internet allowance at best and no internet at worst.
Nobody really cares about them in America, though. SUPPORT THE TROOPS!

"There was a person who said, 'Hey, I'm on a nuclear sub.' I don't even know what it means to be on a nuclear sub, but I've got to imagine it's not easy to get an Internet connection," said Don Mattrick, president of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment division.
It means you're on a submarine that is nuclear powered.
It means more then that. The Sub-Mariners are an elite branch of the US Navy. They are under so much more stress and their work is significantly harder then regular Navy personnel. I was not Navy, but I know the stories.

Microsoft really did it this time. I know the large percentage of soldiers had an Xbox (or at least access to one, many soldiers would share). I would wager that next console cycle the PS4 will be in every barrack. The price also helps because soldiers, expect to have their stuff destroyed, usually by the elements (Sand and electronics do not mix well).
