Microsoft Live/Xbox Live Gamertag

Hi, this is probably really easy to answer, but I just got Viva Pinata for the PC, and when i play it it says I need a Windows Live Gamertag if i want to get achievements. I know that a Microsoft Live account can be associated with an existing Xbox Live gamertag, but...how do I do this, and for that matter, how do I sign in so it registers it on the game? as when i go to create a microsoft one, I have to make a new one, is the ummm....."melding" of the accounts done after this?

Isn't there an option to 'Sign into an existing LIVE ID'? Click that, and type in your Xbox LIVE account's details. It'll take a few minutes, and then you should be set to play Viva Pinata on PC.

You must be connected to LIVE to get achievements in Games for Windows though. And, your friends list will see you're playing 'Viva Pinata (PC)', or something very similar to that.

Edit: this is in addition to mp44's suggestion:

When you go to sign in, you'll have to type in the email address and password you used to sign up for live. I made that mistake once. I couldn't figure out why it was I rejecting my gamertag:
"Did I spell it wrong? *checks* nope... WTFfffffff.... shit, it says EMAIL..."

Oh that game is on PC? awsome; I need to pick it up.

oh and indeed, the windows version works with email adres.
