Microsoft Restricts Twitter, Facebook On Xbox Live

This has nothing to do with the PC gaming/dedicated servers issue at all.

Well, I was going to say that due to PC games not having to go through a single fixed server that can have restrictions put on it, but I don't think I'll bother now.

I made the mistake of putting in my actual age, on my profile. This is the stupidest thing Microsoft could have done. I already have a Facebook account, so why aren't I allowed to use it?

And Last.FM blocked? Why? Music is now inappropriate? Seriously?

The update that they are making is another fail, the parental control they have now doesn't work. I have long ago set all my parental control to allow myself to download content with any rating, but that doesn't work. Microsoft refuses to allow me to download anything with an M rating, which are most of the games I want to play. However, if I pay for the content, such as a map pack, they will gladly take my money.

So there's an age restriction, so what, you didn't need these pointless updates before so why do you need them now?
I could of sworn I, and a lot of us on this thread, bought a 360 to watch movies and play games. Not tweet pointless bull crap and look at our facebook pages, if I want to do that, I would just use my phone.
Why the hell does anybody care about twitter and facebook on the 360 anyway?

Not to mention a waste of space on my super limited 20 gig hard drive that had 10 gigs just from the xbox code crap, and i have 9 gigs of space left....though i really started with 10. Not the 20 the hard drive states.

True, but honestly, I don't mind.

With the amount of young players on XBL, I'm glad their taking the time to restrict facebook and twitter if you're a young person. It could mean less ways for kids to be stalked online, which is good.

I am really pissed about all this, alot of facebook and twitter's users are around 15+
I put my real age into the detail and am being punished for it, while some hyper 8 year old kid gets in fine since he thought it would be funny to say he is 69, complete bullshit

I can see why there's an age restriction on social networking sites, but surely it should be 16+ instead of +18? A 16 year olds can fend for themselves online, can't they?
