Ok, I made a thread earlier about getting Psychonauts and Ikaruga. Ikaruga downloads fine with a minor hiccup, getting an error (80004004) but a quick retry sorts that out.

I then go to download Psychonauts and the same error occurs. This time, I cancel out to delete some demos from my HDD and when I go back to the page, my points have been taken and there's no download to be seen.

What are my options now? Thanks community.

Redownload it. Easy as that. But if it doesn't work, it is your fault for not contacting them once you realized you had a problem. Its like knowing you tire is flat, continuing to drive on it and then yelling at the mechanic because your axel is fucked up.

Call ms support and loudly demand that they give you another xbox, free of charge, as compensation for the trauma. When they refuse, compromise with some free ms points.

If you confirmed the purchase on the marketplace, then Microsoft didn't steal your points, as you agreed to exchange them for a product.

You're probably just not looking in the right place, which is hardly Microsoft's fault.

First check your hard drive and delete the incomplete Psychonauts file, if there is one, then just go to your 'download history' and re-download it.

Once they've taken your points, that purchase is added to you account's permanent record, and you can re-download it any time you want.

I would check again; there probably is a way to retrieve it.

If not, call customer support.

Just don't tell them that it failed to download Psychonauts, otherwise Tim Schafer travel to your house by helicopter, jump in through the chimney and start yelling at you for not downloading the game earlier.

This, even if it messed up downloading you did "purchase" the game and should be able to re-download

Ye, I've just tried it. There is no record on my HDD (not even an imcomplete file). I have sent off a support e-mail to Microsoft and so I'm waiting for the reply at the moment.

If I dont have a reply in the morning, I'll prolly just buy some more points and hope to claim the 1200 I spent back.

Either him or Yahtzee (See his review on Psychonauts). Hm, should probably download that game, I don't want angry men bursting through my windows to yell at me :-S

The record of everything you've purchased isn't stored on your HDD, it's stored in your profile.

From My Xbox go into your profile, go to Manage Account and then go to Download History.

There'll be a record of your Psychonauts purchase, from which you can re-download it.

If you but another 1200 points and buy Psychonauts again, you won't be able to claim your original points back, you'll just have 2 Psychonauts purchases in your profile.
It would be a bit like going into a shop and buying a sandwich, dropping it on the floor, then buying another sandwich, eating it and then trying to claim back the money for the first sandwich that you've left on the floor. The original sandwich is still there, you just haven't bothered to bend down and pick it up.
