The number of games that have any actual immersive value in their music is relatively small.Rainbow_Dashtruction said:Thankfully, I see no logical reason why one would want to play music on a console, since playing music ruins the music of whatever game your playing (although if your playing Dynasty Warriors, I can understand). And as someone who values music very highly due to its importance to actual immersion (not the bullshit thing they call immersion) and emotional impact of scenes, it seems silly to me.
Personally, I like being able to use custom soundtracks in sandbox games where you spend a lot of time in vehicles. Play them through the radio and all. I like GTA V's song selection, but radio stations are pretty limited on songs. Hell, Saionts Row 3 at least had a "mix tape" option, but I'd prefer to have access to my own tracks.
I mean, early games (from this gen) actually integrated them, as if to show off this cool new feature that was here to stay. By the end, it was mostly wrestling games (and I really will miss custom entrance themes).
I can think of plenty of logical reasons why you would want to play music on a console.
They might not fit your preferences, but that doesn't make them illogical.
