Which is fortunate, but all I said is they were taking credit.Saelune said:I'm not giving them credit for it
Anecdotes don't make something a myth. In general, people have an advantage with K+M, and it's easily demonstrable. Controller users are also getting all sorts of assists. Hell, I actually exploit aim assist in quite a few games (and I'm not alone, this is what quickscoping is based on, though I don't quickscope). The worst player doesn't have to beat the best for there to be a decided advantage.Well, see, the thing is...that's a huge myth. Why? Cause the one thing people ALWAYS forget, the human element. Until the worst mouse/keyboard player can always beat the best controller player, then its not actually an issue. I know I personally am better with a controller.
Not just consoles. I can plug my 360 controller into my PC and boot up COD and benefit from Aim Assist. One of those free weekends, my friend and I booted up COD using PS4 controllers. I got a 1.2 K/D by the end of the weekend and he had almost 2.5. I know 1.2 isn't like "OMG, you're amazing!" but it's satisfactory for someone who is at best a casual FPS player who only really plays them because her friends are all filthy FPS junkies. But the aim assist in these games is really creaking obvious, even on PC.Bobular said:I say this as a PC gamer, so correct me if I'm wrong, but don't consoles usually use aim assist?
It can actually be a bit confusing to encounter a game that doesn't use aim assist on a controller. It's still possible to play, but not exactly the same.
Only if they tell you what platform someone's on. Otherwise, you'll end up with the embarassing faux pas of calling someone a filthy Xbot when they're really a PC geek.King_Julian said:yea this is an amazing idea.......xbox vs ps4 players every night........suddenly the "console wars" have become a reality!
