So after reading a bit into Microsoft's franchises and reading about Cliffy B. wanting to insert the Chief into Gears for some sawtacular fun I thought about the Super Smash series and what if Microsoft made that game with their franchises. So I ask you Escapists, if you could have a voice in this game, what characters would you add and which maps would you choose and who would replace The Master Hand?

Well, most of Microsoft's IPs are either FPS/3PS or really bad. There are a few notable exceptions (Conker, Banjo, Alan Wake, Fable) but their most popular characters are "big, weapon-toting brutes" so they'd either have to get characters from another studio, or have 20 characters who toss RPGs at each other[sub]that could be pretty awesome[/sub].

PS: Gravemind replaces MH

Well Conker and Banjo was really by rare before Microsoft bought them so even that is questionable.

Even worse.. I think Sony would be better suited to do something like this, their character lineup is more diverse and more popular.

Crash Bandicoot, Jak/Daxter, Uncharted, God of War, Ico, SotC, LocoRoco, the Getaway, Ratchet/Clank.

They still have their share of useless shooters, but it's better than Microsoft XD

BTW- Zeus replaces Master Hand

There was a Spartan in DoA4. Though it was still a pretty terrible game anyway.

Don't think it'd really work. Microsoft's gaming cast is NOWHERE as near as varied as Nintendo's.

Off the top of my head:

Marcus Fenix
Joanna Dark
Arbiter
Fable Guy
Banjo
Kazooie
South Park Characters

Someone from Freelancer. Godknows how that'd work though.

Oh and Joanna Dark Dark. The orignal one.

Don't they own mechwarrior or something too?

all those series' take themselves too laughably serious to make a game as fun as SSB...

it would just end up being MK:armageddon all over again; shallow fighting game with over the top gore. microsoft doesnt have nearly the IP variety for stages, items and the like anyway.

half of them just use guns as well; their fighting styles couldnt really reflect their characters. CoD doesnt have any recognizable characters, fable has one customizable character so that wouldnt work; it would mostly be halo and gears characters, and as i said they really wouldnt translate well into a fighting game, and anything with guns would be redundant for both series.

it wouldn't be that good
all the powerarmored characters would win...ALWAYS
Not because they were overpowered, but rather because they were the only option available.
