No i'd like to first start by saying, if this has been done before a lazy search for microwave turned up nothing on the subject but if you find it lock this up then and send me there.

Now the introduction, i always sucked at that..

As your average college student, and by average i mean anti-social but who isn't now a days.. well i wouldn't know, i have accsess to one cooking device. Microwaves i, like the average person have experience with, however unlike the average person this experience is very low. It took me several tries to figure out making ramen tolerable again...

Eitherway, my pointless description leads to this

i want to be able to eat more then pb and j, the stuff my school tries to pass as edible, tuna fish sandwiches, ramen and the rare chicken quesadilla i learned to make. Call me picky, but i don't really want scurvy. So basically, any microwave recipies anyone knows for any reason would be appreciated. To start things off, my chicken quesadilla

you need precooked chicken, it's in supermarkets don't look at me like i'm insane
cheese
tortillas, preferable not the wheat ones they microwave rubbery.. least the ones i got.. bleh
anything else you like in them.. crazy fools

Tortilla on microwavable thing, inards of your quesadilla, another tortilla.
Put in the microwave for, not the 35 minutes the box told me for surprisingly black food... yeah still trying to figure that out, but for 6 and a half minutes or so.
Cut, maybe cool, eat...

You could probably substitute the chicken or even remove it, but what ever...

anyway, with all the angry-tone i feel like i had while writing that.. sorry...
But any thanks to more food options that float my way

EDIT: wow.. i can't spell recepies... recipies? recipes? there it is! hey look i can edit the title of the thing, thank you i look less dumb... yet i still told every one of my blunder.. foolish me

it's recipes

Microwave omelet: Cheese of your choice, precooked meat of your choice (ham or bacon is usualkly pretty nice), raw veggies of your choice (get s2 tbsp of water to prepare these), about a teaspoon of milk a spread of oil / butter / pam, your choice and at least 2 eggs (I usually use three).

-Non-stick-ify a microwave dish with oil / butter / pam.
-Crack your eggs in there and whip them (I usually use a fork)
-Shred your cheese or break it up into small chunks and it too the mix.
-Ditto with the meat you're using
-Cook on high for four minutes (varies to microwave and depending on how many eggs you use)
-Put the water and veggies into a sealable microwave dish, cook them for about five minutes on high (this should heat them up and give them a bit of a softer texture but they will still maintain a lot of their natural flavour, this is a personal preference thing)
-Dump veggies on omlette, fold it over if you're a fancy pants
-Eat your creation

This is a little hit and miss and practice to find what works and fits your taste. I prefer raw veggies, and I don't cook them with the omelet because I find it messes with the egg's flavour unpleasantly. Like all cooking you might have a bad experience or two before you figure out that yummy G-spot of the dish.

Pro tip: When microwaving baked beans, insert some butter for taste.

I've also heard its possible to microwave bacon but ive never had the balls to attempt it as it would be a waste of bacon or a waste of a micro wave.

Oh cut a grape in half and stick it in there. It creates plasma!

I learnt how to make a chocolate cake in five minutes [a href=http://www.dizzy-dee.com/recipe/chocolate-cake-in-5-minutes]here.[/a]

4 tablespoons self-raising flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
A sizable mug

First, add the flour, sugar and cocoa to the mug. Mix it up.
Second, add the egg. Cracked first, in case anyone needs clarifying.
Third, douse it in milk and oil. Mix well.
Now, into the microwave! That's three minutes in a 1000W microwave, people!
The thing should rise, as seen here:

Tip that shit onto a plate.

Bon apetit.

My girlfriend's teenage brother "cooks" pizza in the microwave.

It takes about the 3rd of the time it would take in an oven but (imo) they're nothing but sloppyness. He swears blind that they taste just as good, but I'd beg to differ.

Try it for yourself, student food requires experimentation :D

check out your local supermarkets frozen section, they have heaps of stuff designed to be cooked in microwaves, most of it being quite nice.

Eh? What supermarket are you going to? Every kind of microwave food I've ever had has tasted like dry flour and salt.

Apparently you can cook a chicken in a microwave in about half an hour. The problem is that it still looks like an uncooked chicken, all pink and squishy.

Woolworths.

You can get these little meals which you unwrap, put together then nuke for like 2 minutes which are really nice.
Also have a look around in all reality just compare a few things and you will eventually get past all the crappy food and find something nice.

Just a microwave seriously?

Can you really get enough nutrition from just microwave meals?
I don't think you can.

Hey Joe's microwave recipe

Step one: Buy microwave from appliance store
Step Two: ???
Step Three: Profit

...

what? oh, I've seemed to have misunderstood the question.

Anyhow, I love to microwave frozen vegetables in the microwave because I'm too lazy to cut up real vegetables.

The only thing you can cook in a microwave without it turning into inedible garbage is fish. Because the microwave will cook it as if it was steamed. You can use it to steam vegetables as well but I wouldn't recommend it.

Walmart has a fair selection of Banquet and HeartyMan meals fit for a king. If that king is the Burger King.

Seriously tho, you'd be better off investing in a toaster oven. The combinations thereof are incredible, not to mention the fact that BREAD is gross in the microwave, but if you get, say, a small pizza, microwave, then spend a minute in the toaster oven, itd be good as new, and hot to boot!

Microwaved baked potato:

Wash a potato
Jab the potato with a fork
Throw the potato in the microwave
Cook for 1 minute
Take the potato out

Voila! Simple, but elegant...

Get a freaking toaster oven, or at least hide one in your common room. The microwave completely destroys the texture of everything that goes into it. Get a grilling plate and you have everything you need (except a stove, I guess).

Bacon works fine in the 'wave. Just stick four slices or so on a plate, cover with a peice of kitchen roll to stop the fat from spraying the inside of the 'wave then cook on max for 4 minutes or so.

Seriously, the dorm rules only allow a microwave to cook with. we can't even have a hotplate, no toaster oven... You can eat the cafe food.. but i want the option of making something when they have crap.. or i missed the time to go.

I understand there are microwavable meals, but i'm looking for more awesome stuff... like that cake recipe....

Any way, thanks guys.
