midnight launch party

Have you ever gone to a midnight launch party to be one of the first to buy a game?

I have only gone to a launch party for one game: modern warfare 2

Just me and about 1/4 of the human population, and my dad.

Yes, I'm 14 years of age.

We were at the gamestop of our local mall, and I was wearing my army uniform that I got for a present, and there were about 50 other people waiting in line.

The REAL U.S. army was there printing free dogtags for people while they waited.

The staff was handing out free [i/]Monster[/i] energy shots, posters, and signed game cases, but to get those, the drill sergeant that was there had us answer questions, run laps, and do push ups.

I answered one question that I was surprised that nobody knew:

"what war was the original Call of Duty set in?"

I also ran 30 laps around the food court, just to kill time.

After I braved that, I vowed never to go to another midnight release again.

I got it at a gamestop in Chicago, and I'm actually suprised no one got shot.

i went to a midnight launch party for the last harry potter book. it wasn't exactly a memerable expeirence.

I did GTA IV only because I had 2 friends over who wanted to play it as well, and Gears of War 2 because a gamestop friend got it to me a few hours early. Other than that? ...Hm...

Oh Borderlands.

Midnight releases are early for me, I'm in bed by 4 or 5 usually so hardly a big deal.

I went the the halo 3 launch party at my local Gamestop. But i didn't buy, or have a copy reserved. I just went because my friend did. He got the Heroic Pack. And i played Halo 2 on a huge tv. It was kinda kool. They had trivia about stupid multiplayer shit for prize t-shirts. If only they'd asked me about the Non-frat boy parts of the game. Damn teenagers.

Nope. Although unless it was something really worth playing I would consider it. Maybe HL2: Episode 3 if it's during the summer. Even then I'll probably get it off steam.

Well, the U.S. army was there.

Although, they were standing outside of the mall(except for the drill sergeant, she was handing out prizes).

And they didn't have any weapons

And they were just the trainees(except for the drill sergeant).

And there were only 3 of them.

You know what?

We would have been screwed if someone pulled a gun.

If that happened, we would just have to hope that, after the person took the money and the games, that he didn't shoot the clerk in the leg for no reason.
