It seems like this will be the year that I finally break down and get one. With my tax returns coming just around the corner it's imperative that I find something wasteful to blow it on asap and a ps3 seems as good a call as any.

I'm only interested in it for it's exclusives so what does it have right now that sets it apart from the 360 and my beloved PC?

I'm most interested in...

Demon's Souls
Hard Rain
Little Big Planet
Uncharted 2 (probably just a rental though. How long is this game anyway?)

And I guess that's it really. Any good recommendations out there?

I've never played it, but perhaps you should buy uncharted 2, seeing as it won a lot of game of the year awards.

I was the same as you, got it this year for xmas, but there is a lot going for it, God of War collection, LBP, Infamous, Demons souls, etc. Anyway my point is the thing is tons of fun plus free online play

Well, you might want to try Valkryia Chronicles as well. It was a pretty good game.

If you like SRPGs then you might want to try Disgaea 3, although I haven't played that one due to the critical flaw having having yet to finish 2. Not that the plots are connected to each other mostly, I just don't want to play 3 without playing 2.

You have good taste. Demon's Souls, LittleBigPlanet and Uncharted 2 are all fantastic games. I'd only recommend LBP if you have lots of friends to play with on PSN. If not then you can't possibly lose with Demon's Souls and Uncharted 2.

I'm going to recommend Valkyria Chronicles as well. It's a fantastic blend of an RPG and a Third Person Shooter. The graphics are gorgeous, the characters are all colorful and the story is interesting and unique. It's a total steal as well since it's only $20.

This as well. Disgaea is just good, quirky, strategy filled fun. It also proves that the days of highly polished sprites aren't over yet.

Arisato speaks the truth, only get LBP if you have a bunch of people to enjoy it with. Playing by yourself, it's pretty meh.

You should definitely try Infamous, and if you're not sold on Uncharted 2 try to get the first one - it's equally good and a lot cheaper. I recommend both.

Oh, and get God of War III in March. It'll probably be somewhat decent ;)

That's probably the 5th time I've been corrected on that. Just on this site. As far as my brain is concerned the rain is hard, not heavy.

Valkyria Chronicles and Disgaea, nice. Also forgot about those. I've never played a Disgaea game since general anime aesthetics turn me off a little but if the game is good it's worth playing.

How does Disgaea match up to the original Final Fantasy Tactics?
