Power Rangers were the shit back in the pre White Ranger days. Whitie marked their decline for me, but they were still great back in the day. Nowadays they just suck.
I never could get over the fact that he was the new guy yet somehow got the best weapons, the only chest plate, and was automatically the leader.
I know right? Now, I myself am white, but I find it offensive that whitie was automatically given everything. As a white guy that works for everything I have, I really hate that stereotype.
I don't think it was meant to be offensive (The Red Ranger wasn't an an Indian and didn't live on a reservation, the Black ranger didn't have to use separate yet equal morphing powers) so calling it racist would be just a bit much. Its kind of how a new kid is automatically popular because he's new. It just doesn't seem like the best thing in the world show-wise.

Don't get me wrong, I still liked the show even after the White Ranger showed up. But you have to admit, there was a level of "color coordinating". Black ranger was black and break danced, pink was a preppy blonde, yellow was Asian, white was white.

Hell yeah I do. Seriously, kids these days don't get enough good old fashioned violence in their TV programing. It's all comedies like sponge bob that cater to the lowest common denominator of wit. God, I miss power rangers, and the loony toons.
to be fair, looney toons was the lowest common denominator of slapstick.

I was one of the few kids in my hometown who hated the Power Rangers. I don't know man, I just liked Dragonball Z better XD

Ahem.

[HEADING=1]GO GO POWER RANGERS![/HEADING]

Loose translation: Yes, I do appreciate the original Power Rangers theme, and still enjoy listening to it.

I watched Power Rangers obsessively up until the end of the Lost Galaxy season. Most people I speak to on the subject point to Lost Galaxy as the tipping point of quality, being that it was the very first Power Ranger season to sever all ties with the original series. I remember liking it a lot, though, and upon retrospect, it still seems pretty intense. Lots of deaths in that season, a very prominent theme of passing the torch.

The MMPR video game is what really gets my nostalgia going, though.
Me and my siblings used to play the hell out of this one. For a game based on a children's show based on a Japanese sentai show, it's surprisingly good.

The last season had the great idea of flailing the camera so many different directions you couldn't see anything but blur and color.
