Mighty No. 9 Heroine's Design Revealed from Community Vote

Aaaawww... I wanted the phone operator design to win, that actually made sense, she just looks like Blossom from the PPG's... not that there's anything wrong with that.

My fellow Megaman fans... I get the nostalgia at work here, really I do, but did you have to pick the one that was exactly like Roll? You couldn't disguise the knock-off just a little bit?

Not saying I'm surprised or disappointed, just hoping to preempt, or at least to weaken, Capcom's eventual lawsuit. (Forcing Inafune to defend himself against himself... there's an Megaman series plot twist if I've ever heard one.)

I find it reaaally funny that lots of people are complaining that people voted for the design that looks 'exactly like' one of the megaman characters, in what is painfully overtly a Megaman clone series, only made because Keiji can't do more "real" Megaman games.

But it's somehow a wonder that people will vote to continue the ghosted aesthetic from the original?

For what it's worth, I like the F design. Maybe not the most, but art style has a lot of sway for me and I preferred the presented style of some of the designs over what were more 'practical' character designs like C that didn't look as good/fit as well. If they were drawn differently, it may have changed things.

I like It, never seen the designs before but out of what was there I would have voted for this, im interested on seeing where this game goes and I still think its great that this sort of thing is being made today in an age where consoles push for all the 3d and the shiniest lighting yet we can still have a side scrolling mega man game.

So instead of making Call look like a creatively designed helper robot (RIP Call E ;_;7, pray you end up in the game as an alt costume) they went stereotypical powerpuff girl w/ ORIGINAL SKIRT ACTION on us. I do like her expressions though, they're very nice and stand out well.

We can at least rest easy knowing it wasn't anything like *gulp* Dina's Beck design... >~<

The only thing telling me this is supposed to be a robot is you calling it a robot.
If their intent with this design was to communicate "robot", they failed.

Seriously, why would you even put a miniskirt on a "female" battle robot?
Fabric does not go on that.
A and C solved that much better by making that armor plates as part of the legs.
And what is with that weird fixation on earmuffs anyway?

The issue was putting it to a community vote. The community is dumb. Every community is dumb. Everywhere. All the time.

I'm gonna go cry in the corner now.

And I will say it again- there were some concepts that they had for Call like the battle mechanics of Call C that are now completely wasted because the design in question didn't look like a stereotyped to hell anime robot. I honestly think they should of left the fan vote out of this one, and decide for themselves what they wanted Call to look like and/or do in game.

I liked H - might have even voted for it (can't remember). I liked the simplicity because it reminded me of Astro Boy.

I don't get people. Of course call is gonna look like a typical anime girl, of course she'll be just like roll. This is (despite the name) a new megaman, and anime IS the style of megaman, even if you don't like it. Besides, it was a vote for the people who paid for this game to even exist, so if the majority likes this style, then it is only fair that it should win.
So what if she looks like roll? Beck also looks just like megaman too, boohoo.

Is it just me or does Call H kinda look like someone just slapped a dress and new hairstyle on Astro Boy? Maybe it's just the legs I dunno....

Oh come on. The design isn't even bad to begin with. Every time there are more unique ideas, or designs that people think would be better than the one chosen. Not just in games, but in movies and comic books and all the rest. My point was, people (the backers I mean) want this to be megaman. Inafune created this kickstarter for this be be megaman, and if this girl design looks like 'megaman' the most - and I'm not saying the rest did not, after all they ALL were anime styled robot girls, just look at how many anime 'tropes' you can see in all their designs - of course people will like it more.

Besides, maybe people just did not like the 'little girl' vibe that most of the other designs had. Really, 3 of them are the little cute girl with glasses, two of those with twin-tails.

ANYWAY. I think people take the "pure robot" part way too literally. I think that is supposed to be more about personality than looks.

Would be cooler if her arms and legs had those ridges or whatever like Beck.
You'd have to lose the skin tone on the legs though or it'd look kinda weird.

I dunno. Maybe she doesn't have the same powers as Beck.
