Mighty No. 9's New Official Release Date Revealed

Mighty No. 9 will release in North America on February 9, 2016, with the rest of the world following on the 12th.

the game was being delayed [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/tag/view/mighty%20no%209?os=mighty+no+9] past its initial April, 2015 release date. Well the good news now is that Comcept has just announced the new official release date: Mighty No. 9 will launch in North America on February 9, with the worldwide release three days later on the 12th.

"Comcept and our partners at Inti Creates and Deep Silver have been hard at work clearing up any remaining issues with the online modes included in Mighty No. 9. As a result of their progress, we are now able to officially announce our release date," wrote Comcept in a Kickstarter update [https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mightyno9/mighty-no-9/posts/1364093].

Comcept did not indicate which of the plethora of platforms the game would be releasing on for launch, but we can probably safety assume that the PC/Mac/Linux versions will be among the launch platforms. It is currently scheduled to be released on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, PS4, Xbox One, PS Vita and 3DS.

It's glad that the end is finally in sight for Mighty No. 9, as with the launch and failure of the Red Ash Kickstarter [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/141448-Mega-Man-Legends-Spiritual-Successor-Red-Ash#&gid=gallery_4384&pid=1], and the delays to both the game's demo and the main game, had fans pretty worried.

As long as it doesn't get pushed back again.

I'm willing to accept reasonable delays as long as the end product is good.

THis.

That's the thing when you miss a promised release date... you wind up casting doubt on any future release date. COnsidering they p[lanted that sucka straight in the middle of the post christmas doldrums. doesn not show a lot of confidence in their product.

I suspect the reason they actually announced anything is that they can't keep selling pre-orders without an actual release date

Okay. I'm having an issue with this right here. Were they actually dismayed to hear it was being delayed, when it was already 4 months late? I think they were resolute to the fact at that point. Not a backer, so I can't speak for them, but I'd honestly think they'd be relieved to hear the news that it had been delayed at this point, rather than simply canceled.

So, only ten months late.

...Well, that's okay, then!

I suppose it's unnecessary to implicitly state that the final product had better look like it wasn't cranked out in ten months?

How long will this release date hold up?
Lost my interest earlier this year, thanks to the release date pushing.

It had better be worth the wait. After the multiple delays and a terrible community leader, this game may turn me off of all Kickstarter games in the future if it doesn't come out decently.

Yeah, saying that people were dismayed to learn that a game that's already several months late was officially being delayed makes the fans and supporters sound deranged.

Have they given any explanation for the "delay"?

Game development is hard and takes time to get right? Seems as appropriate an answer as any.

They announced in April that it was being delayed until September and they have now delayed it again until February. The way it's written in the article makes look like it just didn't release in April and they have only just now come out with an official statement.
