No, I don't really care. When I get my first 1000, perhaps. For a couple of minutes. After that, I get the feeling that I'll have along talk with myself about how I'm wasting my life.

I don't 'care' but I do notice. I wanted to make a thread on my 1337th post about something but I totally forgot. I only noticed to make a little 'oh hey this is my thousandth post' on my thousandth post. I'm not really interested in celebrating them, but I acknowledge they happen and that's good I guess?

I used to care about postcount on another forum, but that didn't end well. So I don't care any more.

Heh, that is exactly the one single time i ever cared about such things, just because i thought it was funny. Luckily, i noticed it just after posting and made a screenie in my case:

I think you shouldn't celebrate a milestone until 10000 or 15000. Thou those and up are the real milestones :p

I've never really set myself a milestone. I guess 'get a first in my degree' is the closest I've come.

I want the badges, and that's about it.

Milestones in some things are awesome. I just really don't "feel it" with forum posts and post counts.

Then again, I tend to make a ton of posts wherever I go, so I suppose that devalues it.

They're cool and all, but I didn't do anything special for my 1000th post. I just said, "Hey, it's my 1000th post!"

And that was that.

I only like milestones if I've unlocked an achievement or leveled up. So far, 27 years without so much as a bonus feat.

When I ding 20 years old I have evil plans of commemorating it, but most likely it'll slide past without any birthday wishes or gifts like my 18th birth day =3 (I got one from my dad and brother the day after, don't feel sorry for me ^^).

Milestones in a persons life are rarely significant enough to notice because you'll have quite a lot of them after a while. You'll forget, you'll ignore and you'll get tired of them. I have a tenancy to post my thousand post and then make another one pointing out I just passed 1000 posts when I notice I did =3.

There's definitely gonna be one REALLY interesting thread about something of which you have a strong opinion, but you wouldn't be able to post in it.

YEAH 457th POST!

Well for my 1000th post I said something along the lines of "Hooray its my 1000th post", but I didn't make that big of a deal out of it. I don't really have anything planned for any post milestones but perhaps I should think up some. 1234 is coming up...

As for in real life, I don't really get all that excited about some milestones either. Stuff like your 16th, 18th, and 21st birthdays I don't really get all that excited about. Yeah I can do certain thing once I've reached that age, but I don't really see that as a good reason to throw an extra large party. Stuff like graduating high school or college, now that's something worth celebrating. You earned it, you didn't just survive until that point (unless you went to a college where you literally had to survive for 4 years, in that case congratulations). Then of course I'm not that big on celebrating anything. All my recent birthdays have been marked by a cake and some of my friends hanging out. But nothing that big. We'd just litter the basement with soda cans and candy wrappers while we played video games all day.

Good point. I'll probably make it on my 989th post or something, giving me 10 posts with which to reply to things said on that thread.

For me, milestones don't do much. Yes, I graduated high school, but so did another 630 people in my graduating class. As far as the forums are concerned, I don't really pay attention to how many posts I have. I might glance at the number on occasion, but that's it. I don't even know how I'd commemorate my 5000th post, although it's not exactly close..I still have close to 2000 posts to go.
