I plan on staying in my current world but I will have to hike a nice distance to create new chunks. So I will build a sky bridge that will at some point become a railroad to wherever I find a new chunk to work on.

Since I spend most of my time underground I do not lack the stone to do this.

I hope to build a sub mine in the new chunks I find and then connect them to my main mine via an underground railroad that will replace the above ground one.

I intend to raid many abandoned mines for rail, wood and any easy minerals.

What about you?

Any advice for me (or other posters) to make sure the plans work?

I would go about it as I normally would in Minecraft, except I'd constantly be searching for abandoned mine shafts, I'd use stone brick as a common material and would start a melon farm for kicks.

Well just about everywhere around my area is already "loaded" so I'd probably have to travel WAY too far for my liking to get to new chunks to find the 1.8 stuff and I can't be arsed to start a new world. So in other words I'm probably not gonna do much, if anything

I'll probably do a little mining, and a lot of crafting.

But seriously, I haven't played my world in a long time, I'd have to remember what I was doing and where everything is. Maybe just start up a new world and hope to be near something interesting.

Well my friend is resetting the server we're all on, so everything will go. Furthermore, none of us are having mod powers 'to make it more fair'.

Firstly we're going to find an area to build to main base, then I'm going to look for a good cliff nearby to build a house on. Then...well I guess I'll explore!

I JUST WANT THE UPDATE TO COME OUT.

I'm pretty sure you can't keep your current maps because of all the randomly generated shit that is being spawned. That's according to my friend who played the pre-release, though, so I'm not sure.

Anyways, I'm gonna find a village and expand on it, because I'm a lazy bastard.

Might try and find a new server that's just started to join, not played multiplayer yet and think it might be a good time if people are resetting the servers.

Only played a bit of single player as I don't tend to like solo games, multiplayer should make it a lot more fun if I can find decent people.
Just that's going to be a challenge.

Other than that, seeing as I haven't ventured that far from my spawn I'll likely stick with the world I've got and just venture out when it comes to it.

Gonna start a brand new world. Gonna find a cool place to settle, make some cool stuff, and befriend a nearby village (hopefully)

...And I'm gonna start a separate save world just to try living like a "spook" (ie, a demon hunter, as seen in the book series "the last apprentice"). Basically, live near a town, stay at low food (ie, fasting) when going monster hunting, and make sure not a single beastie ever gets into the city. >: o

My plan will probably go about business as usual (when I finally find another good multiplayer server. Good meaning, to my liking.) except I will be taking advantage of all the new features. I also plan to use creative mode in single player to set up models for my multiplayer... and for a few rollercoasters, just because :D
