Ok, for some reason i cannot see or access the original post i had about minecraft. if you hadnt seen it i'd bought it bout 15 minutes ago but ive just noticed to play multiplayer you need a to connect directly to a server, and lack of provided support on this in game has lead me to ask you guys from the escapist to ask : do you know any good SMP servers possibly?

off topic : i bet the escapist took the whole thing down due to me mentioning i might pirate it. well guess what I didnt, so dont delete the post this time.. jeeeez

I've got a server, but I have a very strict rule about getting in my way.

There is a server created for and by escapians called escapecraft. The IP is "escapecraft.com".

I would recommend looking up the rules on the website first though, disobeying them is a quick way to get banned.

Hanging out on the Minecraft forums is the best way to get good leads on good servers, there's a list lol

Yea, the servers can be a hassle to get on, but the single player is still fun.

The Escapist has its own server, the usergroup actually is the fifth most popular.

If you don't feel like looking up the group, the address is escapecraft.com

However, that server is packed, and I couldn't find many places to build or get materials.

Actually we have large chunks of the map that is vacant and even portions that haven't even been generated yet. The map radius is set to 3500, so it's quite a large map, here is the current Escapecraft map: http://escapecraft.net/maps/terra/

Funny factoid, most people find our server because they are members of the Escapist here, I found the Escapist through the escapecraft server

There's a free version-ish on minecraft.net, it's an infinite block builder on a very small map. If you enjoy that, you'll love the full game.
