Top Notch studios?

Hopefully his company is success and we get a full version of Mincraft soon, imagine how well that would sell if he is making suspicious amounts of money only from the alpha.
Oh very clever.

I'd still quite like Minecrack...heh.

And indeed...hopefully he won't rack up the price and become a greedy bastard :)

He's already planning on doubling it.

Though, I suppose it would be more accurate to say that the price was actually halved for people who buy during the Alpha.

Pretty sure Notch's company's name was always Mojang Specifications. You know, the one's who's splash ad plays EVERY TIME you open the game, if only for a moment. This, next to the incorrect currency and website name, leads me to believe this is fail journalism.

This guy is a genius. He's created a game that while simplistic in graphics, captures the attention of so many people, and is so insanely diverse that anyone can play it and enjoy it no matter if they have great or horrible architectural skills.
Hats off to this man, and I can't wait to see Minecraft as a finished product. I still sometimes forget its not even beta...

Just picked up MineCraft after ArsTechnica did a story on it a few days ago. Hands-down one of the most entertaining (and time-consuming) titles I've played in a while, which is especially amazing since it's still in Alpha.

Hope his company grows to the massive success it deserves to be.

I hope he succeeds in a major way, showing all the large companies they don't have a clue what they are doing.

Yeah, I meant beside that price double. I should really get around to buying it now actually....

What's it going to be called? motherfucking time vampire games?

I bought minecraft and have spend the last two days piling blocks on top of blocks and moving blocks and punching blocks. When I see a tree in the real world, I'm amazed how round and smooth it is.

As somebody already said, taxing is going to cut a Fat motherfucking chunk out of that money.

Y'see, i live in denmark, right next to sweden. And denmark have flipping HUGE tax, but sweden is one of the few countries(actually, i think it is THE only country), that has a bigger tax percentage. In denmark, companies pay 20% of all their revenue in taxes. but this is personal income at the moment, so that wont matter for a while. right now, he'll probably pay substatially more than half that money to the swedish government. When he does create a studio, he'll have whole new layer of taxes to worry about.
Still, he's gonna be one rich man, but financially, this is probably more win for the swedish government than for him.

This is how everything should be. Inspired and talented people getting the resources to make things with as great an added value as possible.

Shoulda started it in Texas or a similar place. The paperwork with both the state and federal govt took me 2 days and 300 dollars. The 35% federal corporate rate does suck though, and TX's asinine 1.6% franchise tax on revenue (not profit...you can lose money and STILL owe taxes) is...asinine. Then you add in the 35% top earnings rate for personal income from federal, although maybe soon it'll be 39.6% if the Democrats succeed in letting the top earners tax cuts expire...

Shoulda started it in Slovakia or a similar place. I hear their taxes are much lower. All hail the Tatra Tiger.
