Minecraft exploring

Does anyone else explore minecraft just for the adventure?
I do it fairly often, just load a new world and go exploring. I usally go looking for epic caves, huge waterfalls or just odd wonders the generator created.

On of the best i found was a straight cave/tunnel that lead me straight to the underworld underneath the map.

I dunno if its just its simple beauty that makes me want to do this, but i find it great fun. I rarley mine in advernture mode (unless i need to creat torches). Hell, i even take printscreens of the various sights ive seen...

I want to be able to enjoy doing that, but really there's nothing there. For me there should be some kind of adventure mode, with ruined villiages and little snippets of story. But that's just me, I'm not really into building stuff.

Not just you, although I tend to focus on spelunking/mining. Maybe I should do some more surface exploration.

I love doing that as well, though wherever I go I just HAVE to find the highest point in the area and build a skull fortress on it. After that I move on to somplace new to erect more masonry! YAY!
