Minecraft help

Okay so I just set up the imac I got for christmas and set up minecraft(hooray).
But problem is, I cant seem to place things=/
it says right click is place but on mine it does the same as the left mouse button, what do I do?
Can anyone help?

Try reassigning the controls, if possible.

have you selected the item you want to place?

Do you have the item you want to place selected in your hand? Use the inventory screen to assign items to the hotkeys (numbers) then select the item you want to place using the hotkey.

Also, only blocks and certain environment items are placeable. If you can't place down your new axe, that's why.

Macs are fun like that. Hold down Ctrl when clicking. That should make your mouse clicks act as "right-click" on a Windows machine.
