Minecraft Houses

I don't have one, currently. Most of my attempts at starting a new game fail miserably, since I end up in a crappy mine half an hour's walk from the spawn point.

Also, while I'm waiting for my graphics card to be returned, I can't play games on the PC.

Once I start using the bed update, though, things are gonna change.

Well, I'm building on that world for about three months now and I'm still by far not done but I'll give you some basic views nevertheless.
Let me just say that I've made it a point to only build under water, infact taking these screenshots was the first time in a month I went to the surface. Plus most of my evacuation points are so deep down that you can't really reach them without running out of air mid-dive.

In the middle my two-story biodome with a natural habitat for my people, to the right is my mall complete with cinema, restaurants and the First National Bank Under The Sea, to the left the building I started with (nothing really special but I still keep it). That glass tube is a two-way railroad system I have not yet perfected.

I'm really proud of this one. Built almost completely by hand and nearly fully-furnished. This gigantic gothic cathedral alone took me one month to finish but damn, it's a monster. Maybe I'll get around to making some videos soon.

What you can't see in the pictures because it's still in progress is my police station/prison complex. Probably'll take some time because I've got to do a lot of redstone wiring and stuff.

Alright, now if you excuse me I have an aquatic realm to administer.

My houses consume a LOT of resources to make. Seriously they're really inefficient. It takes sheep grinding and mass deforestation to finish one of these. Still, the end product looks pretty cool.

I wish I had a pic but I had a neat little house hidden in a huge forest, complete with underground chambers and farms and escape passages, without torches on the outside you literally could not locate it.

UNFORTUNATELY, I have a mod that gives you all sorts of guns and sentries...And a flamethrower.

There was this random 1x1 patch of dirt floating in the air by a nearby island, so I shot at it.

HOWEVER I underestimated the exact range of the flamethrower...and part of the forest was behind it.

the ground level of my house was made out of wood and there were about 100 trees all connected around it.

...You see where this is going eh?

The first serious structure I built, also when I discovered the cloning glitch. Made life easier, but kinda takes some of the fun out.

Note in this last one the uncompleted back wall - the whole choir stalls, organ, altar etc have yet to be added though the rest of the structure is pretty much sorted.

Much of the material used in its construction came courtesy of InvEDIT, though beneath it lies a bedrock-reaching quarry and workshop from the times when I was feeling sufficiently industrious to do things properly Each of the larger pillars contains ladders leading down into the quarry and up into the roof structure. Where the roof meets the walls there's a wide walk that takes you all around the perimeter of the cathedral, and there are plans to have a minecart station integrated into one of the wings of the building.

Work started the day after Christmas and has proceeded sporadically ever since

This is a fairly new world, and I don't tend to get all that fancy with materials, when I get around to building anything between exploring caves and fighting off creepers. Once I add stuff like doors, windows, walkways, and stairs, it will all look a whole lot nicer

But here it is:

I'm mostly just goofing around. I used a seed with a huger ocean and found a nice bay to build a city around.

I have a huge huge huge hole in the ground that glitched out when an old brand-new save got converted to the new format. Kinda like a chunk error in single player. Lost my house. Decided to say "screw it" and INVedited shovels and picks. I now have a digsite. Tossed a bed into a little cave I found up top. It's good.

Ummm make a tree farm. Seriously a 10 long 2 wide tree farm without water produces so much wood it is unbelievable.
