Minecraft Issues

Is anyone else having issues with Minecraft not loading single player? It just downloaded the new expansion, and it's on a Mac. I click single player and it just freezes the title animation for a few seconds, and then closes itself.

I'm not really good with computers, I'd appreciate any help.

I just gave it a try, updated to the latest version and it just works. Admittedly I'm not on a Mac.
