I am new at modding in general and wanted to get in Minecraft's great supply of user made content. I looked up tutorials, downloaded ModLoader, as well as some other Mod enabling files with 7zip, and through trial and error, managed to install Mo' Creatures exactly how I should and get Minecraft up and running perfectly. I loaded my save, the game plays fine, but whenever I click the Mod settings in the menu, the game crashes. I deleted the META folder with WinRAR, but I cannot use my installed mod in the game. I have been working at this for two hours, and I am at the end of my rope on what I can do. Those of you willing to help or sympathize, please leave suggestions.

You don't need to do anything in the "mod settings." That is for skins and textures. Whatever you put in the skins and texture folder is conflicting.
"World Mod Settings" in the pause menu is how you turn mods on and off in single player, at least. However, the good news is that I tried again and was able to get Mo' Creatures working with no issues. Thanks for the advice, but it's all good now.
