Surely you can get Fallout 2 cheaper than 10 bucks?

You can get Fallout 2 on Good Old Games for 6, and it's pretty much a better deal in every way than getting it anywhere else. (No DRM, optimized for newer systems, free soundtrack, etc.)

I bought Fallout 2 on GOG a few months ago for 3 American moneys and it was definitely worth it. Haven't tried minecraft yet, though.

Go with Minecraft. 1.8 Patch will be out on Monday. At it's gonna be a really big one. Even the current Minecraft is a joy to play and a perfect time sink, but the new patch will make it really epic.

Depends on what you would rather have. An in-depth RPG set in a post apocalyptic US witha very high learning cure and unforgiving difficulty, or a sandbox in which you can create pretty much anything.

10 bucks? the Fallout collection generally goes for that (here it is for $7.79 [http://www.amazon.com/Fallout-Collection-Tactics-Post-Nuclear-Pc/dp/B000IGE78M/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1315605202&sr=1-1]), and it comes with Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics...

Minecraft, though, I can't comment on. I still don't trust the available payment methods.

But don't spend $10 on Fallout 2. You can get it cheaper, and you should play Fallout 1 before 2.

Minecraft was okay at first. It gets dull pretty quickly. I don't particularly like RPGs, so I wouldn't recommend Fallout either. Bastion is pretty sweet though.

I have (and have beaten) Fallout 1,3, and New Vegas
Then get Fallout 2. Fallout 2 is pretty much an improvement on the first in every single way, except for being somehow more buggier than 3 and New Vegas, and (It depends on your point of view) it takes itself much less seriously than Fallout 1 did.

Download a restoration patch that fixes the bugs and you should be set.

Why not....both!

I'm surprised Minecraft is that expensive - I didn't think it was going up in price until November. Nevertheless, you can probably buy Fallout for dirt cheap - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Avanquest-Software-Fallout-Collection-DVD/dp/B000FUD16A/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1315606305&sr=8-2 (in pounds, I know, but still!)

Minecraft is one of those games where you spend stupid amount of hours on it....then spend don't go on it for a couple of weeks...then come back and spend stupid amount of hours on it. It's especially good if you or a friend has a server. Plus 1.8 [http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Adventure_Update] comes out soon which is going to be AWESOME!

EDIT: I realise the link I gave was the Fallout collection BUT MY POINT STILL STANDS!

You can get the whole Fallout collection for cheaper than that if you look around.

Personally i'd go with Fallout but I wasn't so keen on Minecraft.

But, like someone above said, it depends what you are looking for they are both completely different style of game. Can't really compare the 2 being from different genres.
