Minecraft Players: Which difficulty do you play on? [Broken Poll]

Recently I came to wonder how other Minecraft players feel about the difficulty settings of the game.
Recently while playing, I decided I wanted to set the difficulty to peaceful. I personally was getting sick of creepers destroying everything I worked so hard to achieve and I really just wanted to play the game as what it was: a creativity toy. However though I can't help but feel like I am missing out on a lot of content by doing so I will probably turn it back to normal once I finish my current project. Just want to know how the rest of you feel on this.

always play on hard. this adds a real frantic combat system instead of just whack whatever is in your hand at the nearest zombie. i personnally dont build a whole lot anyway so im more for the primal fear of green shrubbery anyway.

but i agree if your only building then peaceful is for you, theres no shame in turning off the monsters to build some truly epic things.

on single player i mainly play on peaceful as i just mess about on it when my multiplayer server i use is down (as it has been for a while now ), and i use the peaceful singleplayer sessions to test new ideas and redstone circuits etc. before recreating them for my mates to see on the multiplayer server, where i am a tad more careful cos that's on normal, i think...
while you have it on peaceful, why not light everywhere up, and then build a wall around the area so the creepers leave you alone, and then you can just head outside when you wanna kill something

I used to play on normal, but after repeatedly having to run away from skeletons yelling "FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK" because I'm positively loaded with ore and can't afford to die anymore, I switched to peaceful. Much nicer now that I don't have spiders hissing in my ear repeatedly.

...I'm still twitchy at night, though...

peaceful, i hardly ever play multi, as i just dont care to join with people i dont know, and i don't want fucking stupid things popping out nor destroying my creations, so yeah, peaceful it is


especially after seeing some of the insane shit that people have built on youtube..my creations are weak in comparison but i love them dearly.

I must have been playing a different version than you, though even on hard I still had trouble finding challenge. Nothing seeks you out, they just kinda meander around until you enter an arbitrary range. They aren't out to murder your ass like a Terraria monster.

I've been playing it on peaceful because plyaing Minecraft on a track pad isn't as easy as you might think. At least not with mine, it doesn't allow me to click and turn at the same time which makes combat a real *****.

But if im in the mood, i'll kick it to peaceful and build me a castle or two.

Yeah, this is me too. Even on hard I don't have much of a hard time. I sleep most nights and even when I don't, it isn't like the game offers much challenge. All you really need is iron and even hard is a cake walk. Then you just make a bow, collect feathers in the morning, make sure you keep 30+ arrows on you or have backup iron or better gear on hand.

Peaceful mostly.

You need a lot of steel to build long mine tracks so dying is pretty disheartening and I do my best to avoid it as much as possible.

I'm the kind of person who would just stop playing for a long time if I died while holding more than three diamonds.

It gets even cuter. She's 2 1/2 and she will say, "Sheep... bahhhhh..." or "Cow... Mooooo." I haven't been able to get her to say chicken or pig yet. She calls them "food."

Normal or peaceful. I'd play on hard, but I think it actaully has a lower spawn rate than normal, and I only play on normal if I want to hunt creepers.

I just play on normal with Minecraft, because I have heard that more monsters spawn on normal. I've never really paid much attention to the difficulty on Minecraft though, I just like exploring more. I should really set it to hard though... I've only died once on my main world.

You do know you can build beds, right? Lets you skip through the night if you want ^^.

My single player world is set to normal difficulty, as I only use it for designing and testing out designs, in what is basically an underground mining and testing facility. The server I'm on is set to peaceful, as we were all getting sick of creepers blowing holes in our creations.
